Table top cd/mp3 players :)

I was considering buying myself some table top cd players that can read mp3's too.
Since i'm new to this stuff, i rather have a seconde opinion on this subject from people who use them on a regular basis ... and here seems to be a nice place for having opinions :)
So i've been checking out stores, and seeing the different models, and here's are those who caught my attention :
PIONEER CDJ 200 TABLE TOP CD PLAYER MP3
GEMINI MPX30 TABLE TOP CD/MP3 PLAYER
AMERICAN AUDIO CDI-500 MP3 TABLE TOP CD PLAYER
DENON DN-S3500 TABLE TOP CD/MP3 PLAYER
There's a lot more on the market, meaby i haven't seen them. But some are way to expensive for a beginners level o_0 ... (Ex.: Numark NUMARK HDX)
But one who caught my attention and i'm really thinking on that one is the DENON DN-S3500 :)

| Either the Pioneer CDJ 200 or the Denon DN-S3500. Stay away from Gemini and American Audio DJ stuff, wont last you long. Pionner and Denon are the leaders in CDJs. Not many complaints about their products, seem to last long. Has all the features you need at a good price, especially the CDJ 200, only being $399 a piece. I spent $2,000 on CDJ 1000s, and although I am happy with them, I almost think they are over kill. So my recommendation is the CDJ 200s, you really don't need a spinning platter like on the Denon, unless of course your doing a lot of scratching. |

Oké, when i went to the dj shop, i tryed and played with the DENON DN-S3500. And i guess i fallen in love with it. I know pionner has really a big reputation in dj equipment.
Except for the cost, what's the big difference betwen the CDJ-200 and the DN-S3500. |

| Depending on what you are going to use your cd decks for, another option that could work out for you is a single denon dn-s5000. The reason you can use one is becuase it has the alpha track capability, which alows it to play tracks off the same cd at once. This works well if you have aditional gear already ie. some turntables or just any other sources. One unit obviously takes up less space than 2, and has almost all of the same features of the 3500. |

Well i guess il'l go with the family, the cdj-200 has a nice reputation, and pionner is really known into cd deejaying ... And the reselling price doesn't change much too !
I guess the gadget and good looks of the DN-S3500 won't beat the cdj-200. |

Yeah I don't think it's worth the extra $300 ($600 more for both). I mean if your into scratching, get the DN-S3500, but if not, all you need is the CDJ 200. If you wanted to spend a little bit more there is the CDJ 800, which a lot of people seem to like. Those run for $500 to $550 so if you wanted to spend some more then go for those. Otherwise, just settle for the CDJ 200. But again it's up to you, I'm not telling you what to buy, thats your decision, if you really like the DN-S3500 then go for that, but if you would ever DJ at say a club, you wont find one of those, and the feel is quite different, considering it has a spinning platter, while the CDJ 200/800/1000s don't. The 800 is closer in feel to the 1000, but the it only has .05 pitch resolution, which isn't quite as accurate the .02, but doesn't make that big of a difference. Both the CDJ 200 and 1000 have more pitch ranges (including the 6% which is best for prog and trance, the more complex stuff). The CDJ 200 also plays MP3s, so if your into that, then go for it. So I'de say try out both the CDJ 200 and the CDJ 800, and see which one you like better. Either way you'll be in good shape if you are serious about this. |

the www.denondjforums.com has loads of reviews and user input on the DN-S3500. It's honestly a great unit, considering it can emulate the Pioneer cueing method as well as use its inherant Denon cueing method.
Don't forget it's also got FX and full MP3 capability, AND firmware updates.
Considering its price, I'm grabbing one in about a month's time.
If you really want a beginner's unit with a great price tag, you can grab a pair of Denon DNS-1000s for 600 to 700 USD, if that much. They can do most things the 3500 can, minus some effects and the spinning platter.
If you're aiming for a beginner's unit, but can afford the hefty price tag, the Pioneer CDJ-800 is closest to what you'll see in most nightclubs, except the CDJ-1000 has a few more bells and whistles. |

Well, I've played live every Friday on 2 cdj 200's for about 4 months and I have nothing to complain about... They work just fine, I have not used mp3 too many times, but it seems to work just fine.
P.S. it is on a local disco for high school students, therefore the low budget CDJ's (but the mixer is a DJM-500 :P ) |

Cause i've noticed someone selling it on another forum and tought it could be meaby a European product .... |
