Just cause they are Persian doesn't make them muslim and why is this in the PDD?

Do you honestly think there'd be a law in Islamic texts forbidding the use of Technics 1200s? Wow, that Mohammad was sure ahead of his time! For what it's worth, the only Muslims who would forbid DJing would be those crazy ultra-fundamentalist types like the Taliban, and they just happen to forbid all music (remember, they banned music in Afghanistan). So far as I'm aware though, there is no Islamic law that would forbid playing music in a club, although the conservative types would probably look down upon the associated aspects of clubbing culture (drinking, drugs, sex etc.).

And to answer your question, my friend's former roomate was a Pakistani muslim and he and his friends DJ'd at R'n'B nights. So yes, there are muslim DJs.

Of course not, but they are.

quote:
Both Shirazinia and Tayebi are Iranians who now reside in Washington DC. On being asked how the recent September 11th incidences in the US affected them Shirazinia said that they were both deeply shocked and moved by what had happened.

"We do a lot of travelling and it's changed how we travel in and out of the USA. But we realise that the delays are for our own and others safety so it doesn't bother us," said Shirazinia.

Being Muslim has in no way affected how they are received in the US. Nor has their religion affected what they do.
