i have had a thought-storm yesterday, and would'nt it be nice if Cocoon club decided to come to anti-europe kingdom for a one of to see the result. just think the line-up could be taste the mainland:

sven vaeth (ger)
paul van dyk (ger)
avb (HOL)
tiesto (HOL
picotto (ITA)
mario'piu (ITA)

u know i would'nt call myself expert but im having trouble finding other names to reprezent other countries and yes...thats including the uk, i myself am german and only been over here a few years, i cannot think of anybody living up to the standard of the rest but if anybody has an opinion on who else should grace the line-up as well or even replace plz ... comments? anybody?

than again i think the styles and levels of music would be a bit too misch-masch, id like tou' hard to harder to titanium-kevlar coating.

ps dave clarke maybe...never seen him live but the sets i have certainly do it for me

well id have dumonde insted of vath first :D

scott bond n john kelly from here, although from matt hardwicks recent performence... :)

mmmhhhh...im a little confused about subject:john kelly i have never heard as many different opinions about the one dj or better one man.

one says is he's good, the other says he is the best, one is crap, others say he can't mix...and on boxing day some guy i know came walking off the d-floor, eyes fire-red, filled with anger and said don't just f'ing john kelly, which seemed to me like he had more in for him than most others on the judge i dread see him play.

personally, i have seen about half to a dozen sets and they all seemed pretty even. a bit of hardhouse, a bit of trance pretty mainstream.

Dj O'Callaghan
DJ Scot Project (GER)
Taucher (GER)
Talla 2xlc (GER)
Tillman Urmacher (GER)
Ferry Corsten (HOL)
Signum (HOL?)
Johan Gielen (BEL)
PUSH/MIKE (BEL)
Yves Deryuter (BEL)
Corvin Dalek (HUN)
John '00' Flemming (UK)
James Holden (UK)
Fergie (UK)
AJ Gibson (UK)

I think the rest have been named who I actually like by DT lol, most are big DJs but theres some up there that have good futures ahead of them. but I don't think many of them would replace the ones you've named

But I've seen 5 of the acts above but I dunno if most of them would do well in Cocoon which seems to be a techno Club. But theres some names to help you represent countries and DJs.

AJs a wicked DJ he's from Northampton orginally, he was with Godkitchen when it started at the Roadmender in Northampton, so he's been with them a long time he's not that old aswell, and he plays in the clubs round here a lot, I think he's going to be quite big in future because I've seen him spin a lot and he's played some good trance, he's quite versatile aswell he can play a lot of styles, but its Goskitchen so he play some quality trance, I remember Lisa Lashes spinning before him once, and she had a small atmosphere and not many people were out most were around the dancefloor chatting, then a local dude came on and played for 30 mins, then AJ came on and he ripped up the whole floor was packed in about 15 minutes, Daniel Sotos good aswell.

u can all name names with ur european dj's but IMO there are no better dj's on this planet than scott bond, matt hardwick and eddie halliwell. bar a certain mr picotto...

although it has to be said, i love techno.. (wAAAAAAAARrrP)
sigmarius-7
interesting, how come wherever i go everybody recognises techno is big in germany. but whenever i hear somebody stick some techno on its usually a certain prick named ribbz blaring the same and same and same again lyrics over beats wish seem to run on pattern of speed 280 bpm but 4 kicks every 16 klicks. in germany we call it gabba. there seems to be an obvious lack of how can i put it more techno-e techno dj's. the only guys i ever heard of playing decent techno, sorry opinion, not playing gabba like sounds are mark eg and m-zone and the first on is scandinavian(what i heard anyway)

somebody enlighten me, name some english dj's rated for their stuff like the likes of speedy j, chris liebing, richard bartz, monika kruse... im sure u heard of 'em if not vaeth, pvd on very hard day as may'99 at the vault in leipzig.

oh, before i forget name the places they play at as well without those pavarotti like mc's, so i can do some searches on english sets on ag.thnx fellow addicts

HAHAHA Gabba techno, I actually used to like Gabba loads it was much better then Happy Hardcore, I used to listen to Clarkee and Mark EG and M Zone. I don't really think theres many Brits into normal Techno the only Djs which spring to mind is Carl Cox (who can play more other styles then Techno), Dave Clarkee never really paid much attention to him, Billy Nasty, Ritchie Hawtin and Luke Slater and people like that, Brits here seem to prefer Tech Trance your Picotto, and Mario Piu stuff more then Techno, I think some classic Sven Vath stuff is good, but it seems that Technos gone fairly funky recently.

i sed theres no-one better than scott bond, matt hardwick and eddie halliwell.. except for picotto.. as in he rates as good as them :)

btw.. i fink gabba is poo..
sigmarius-7
i see. i have to say again thou' u either reeaaaaally cained or simply demented to be able to stomp to 6 to 9 hours of gabba, i don't like it. its simply way to haaaaardcore. yeahhh, i like dave clarke and ritchie coxy is ok as well but i think thats where your funky line comes in, carl is sometimes a little too funky for my liking, but thats opinion i suppose.

what about jeff mills is he not english.i only ever heard him play at german parties, but than again i 'void 'techno' parties here coz mc's, gabba and the sound is just not the same.

i cant say that i can cut my faves down to hand naming five names or less and say they'r the best everything is 2nd rate. i only mentioned m-zone and mark eg 'coz i heard some rave tape and both sides the sounds were good.

i'd say the tape was good but on each side about 20 minutes go to waste with this guy called ribbs or ribbzy chanting all kinds of cheesy lyrics even cussing other mc's saying they talk to much an he is the worst for that of all...so i fully understand i raise a smile from u guys mentioning rave,dusk-mask and mc dayz.

i think from now at least on this board, im gonna make the effort of stating german-techno or hard dance rather than techno, to avoid anyone assuming im a gabba-freak lol:stongue:
