I'm a little dissapointed that the promoters didn't look into booking local talent that matches the style of the headliner for this event, but I guess I should be used to it in this city...

What do you think this is, a rave or something?

no, but this is Yoji. If Yoji plays hard dance and hardstyle, would it not make sense to book locals that do the same?

And hard music isn't only for "raves". In most countries and at events where artists such as Yoji performs, (Sensation Black & Q-Dance, and events of the like), are not considered raves, they are large 19+ with an idetical demographic as a club such as the Guv.

Unfortunately, we've been playing the same music in clubs here for 10 years. Yoji is a huge milestone for our club scene, and will hopefully open minds to something other then prog-tech-whatever, and show that it can be well received.

Good Music is GOOD MUSIC. Regardless where it's played.

what have you done to make yourself known to ppl who luv Yoji and his style of music in this city or better yet what did you do to make sure that the promoters of this event knew about local talent that is GOOD to match up with Yoji.

I've posted mixes on boards, hand cd's out at events or even just suggested DJ's to book. But, I don't think it's what *I* have or haven't done that will change or would have changed anything. I've never talked to the promoters of Ultra-Spin, but I have talked to other promoters who have done events at the Guv. They laughed, and said exactly what Wurm said.

But now, finally someone has booked talent along these lines. And i've been waiting 6 freakin' years for this.

We've got people who have been playing the same kind of music as Yoji in this city, and have been doing it just as long (if not longer) than him. Djs like Ken Finch and Chiclet play the same freakin' tunes.

Like I said, I really think this is a big step for Toronto's club scene. There's no reason we need to be 10 years behind Europe in what's hot.
