People dance differently depending on race/ethnicity/loaction, etc....
For example, a certain group of peeps in Southern California are notorious for the washing machine dance...although I doubt it's only in SoCal, just know I haven't really seen it in Norther California. :p
Anyhow, dancing to trance is an entirely different form altogether. It's about expressing the emotion the music brings out in you...not about style. That's for hip hop...and even generic house. That's more about the style. Dancing to trance is pure to me no matter how rediculous it looks...except for the washing machine bullcrap some cracked out people do. |
Never heard of the washing machine stuff....
but i understand what you're saying. people in chicago dance a lot different than out here in iowa [if you can even call it dancing out here...]
culture plays a lot in it - and european culture is different than american. |

Around here it doesn't matter whether you look cool or not while dancing but have a good time on the floor.. without a single care for what others think of your dancing skills.
It should be about everyone having fun as they can anyway, not mocking others for dancing how they like. Personally i couldn't care less how i dance or how others dance as long as someone fills the floor. :stongue: |
Steals my words from my mouth, AND my heart :wtf:
I can dance,I have rhythm, as I have won a dancing competition in my life :D *head grows*
But,when I'm out and some of my friends do not want to go on the floor cause they are a bit scared about looking like fools,I point outt hat they don't go out and start judging others, and no1 else does, you go to an event and theres not a crowd of people at the sidelines pointing and laughign, and the further into the dancelfoor you go the easier it is to be free, and the less you feel watched,I sometimes watch the dancing, but only as a whole of the floor, watching hundreds of people all moving and havign fun is something spectacular imo. |

You people take clubbing too seriously. :tongue2 |
Yes. Totally seconded.
Analyzing dancing skills saying "this one is kool, this one is bull" is just so childish and arrogant ... learn move to the music, learn to let go, feel the SOUND, move how YOU want, don't let your freedom be inhibited by "dancing rules" sayin this is cool and this not ... once you have had a real good time letting go and really feel the FREEDOM you don't care anymore about such trivialities. You may laugh at us europeans - but I say if you look or care about other people that "dance stupidly" and that you can laugh about you already have missed the point of EVERYTHING THIS ALL HERE IS ABOUT and deserve to be the one others laugh about, because you will never have such a good time as we :) |

Bloody septics completely missing the point, as per usual.
Dance (be that house, trance, techno etc) is about hedonism. It's about losing yourself. It's about doing what you do, when you wanna do and how you wanna do it. If waving your arms about or throwing your legs in all different directions is what you wanna do then go for it...if that's what makes you feel good then that's what it's all about. Dance music isn't about all this 2kool4skool b0ll0x where you go to a certain night or dress a certain way or dance a certain way to impress everyone around you. If you wanna do that then fsck off to the RnB scene where they'll be plenty of people willing to lick yer backside and tell you how cool you are.
Bloody yanks. :whip: |

Ahahahaha. You Europeans who are overreacting are funnier than the way you dance.
No one's saying you shouldn't dance that way, at least not that I've seen. We're just saying it looks funny to us. Why are you letting that get to you if you're not self-conscious about the way you dance? |
