Ok So I've narrowed my selection to 4 cars. If anyone nkows alot about cars, like fuel economy performance, etc., by all means PLEASE HELP ME decide which car I should get.

1) 99/00 Acura 3.2 TL
2) 99 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro
3) 01 Volvo S40 1.9T
4) 99 Volvo S80 T6

ALl 4 of these cars are around the same price range and have almost the same mileage.

My first hcoice was a 2001 Lincoln LS but couldnt find one around my price range and low km's.

PLEASE HELP ME! Drop some stats for me!

I'd go with the Acura or the Audi.. Volvo is the worst of the "luxury" cars for falling apart and requiring repairs..

Personally, go with the acura.. that car is sooooo much fun to drive..

My father has driven nothing but Volvos for the past 18 years (760T, 850T, C70, C70conv).... wait, there was a Thunderbird between the 760 and the 850.... so Volvos and one Ford. I can recall him having only one major problem (can't recall what it was). He tends to drive his vehicles until the 300,000 mark.

Go with the Acura.

Audis are notoriously unreliable (trust me, I have a lot of friends who are into German cars,) and the Volvo won't be as dead-solid-reliable and ... good as the Acura. Absolutely go with the Acura.

If I had to pick between a 3.2 and an A4, I'd probably get the A4 since imo it's much more sleeker and looks a helluva lot meaner, but if you want a car in the compact/sedan category around the same price range than I'd say definitely go for an RSX or even Type-S.

german cars, although high in quality like the japanese cars, just cost more to fix. so if and when any of em do break down the german cars will typically cost a little more. either for parts and/or for the labour (ie time required to do the fixing).

therefore, id say get the TL.

all 4 are quality cars though. depending on the km, try to predict what you may need to fix in the near future (1 or 2 years, or however long you expect to drive the car for), ex replacing the timing belt and ask a mechanic (from acura, volvo, and audi) for the cost involved to do this work for each of the cars.

shawn.

I have a 97 Acura 1.6 EL. Never had any problems. I say go with the TL.

I'd say Acura or Audi

As everyone said, the Acura will probably last you forever with minimal problems.

The Audi, on the other hand, will be a much more fun car, plus you get AWD, which is quite handy for the snow. Although, Audi/VW's do tend to have problems, especially electrical, down the road. And since its a turbo engine, its a little tougher to maintain.

The Volvos are solid cars....although the two models you've chosen are either a little too old-manis (S80) or a little too boring ('01 S40)...

pretty strange choices of cars there tho....:p

why not the volvo S60? Infiniti G35 sedan? Nissan Maxima? Lexus IS300?
