Generally the difference between t-bone and porterhouse has nothing to do with thickness.
The difference is: t-bones do not have the fillet and t-bones are cut lower on the loin (vs. porterhouse).

Striploins come from the very end of the loin, past the last rib (thus the cap of fat and no bone). |
