en wankers. They ain't no different overseas, than when they're in their homeland!
I just came home from a pub and got pretty smashed.. had a really good time actually, and met some lovely people! But on my druuunked stumble home I managed to catch up to a 1/2 dozen people speaking with my similar accent. I ask them where they are from and they say America, California. I mention I'm Canadian and... not 1 but 2 of the people snicker and laugh and proceed to tell me that they hate Canadians. :eyes: :eyes: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:
Just the feeling I got that they ruled the world, I wanted to tell them to straighten the up and tell them they are in a differenet place, like lots of us, and that they should stop turning their nose up at others... especially while travelling, exploring the world.
Sorry, but I'm quite pissed off here an this is my little rant... the "I'm better than you attitude". And it really hit home last night, when I realized that I'm in the same sorta state they are in... not really knowing anyone and to discover what other places have to offer... and they still believe that they rule the world. en wankers! It awful the experience I had tonight, even if it was for just a few short minutes... but the fact remains that no matter where you go... there's no escaping the narcisism that is America!
I've met TONS of wikkid Americans in my days... and still to meet some ;) and there's obviously a few that fell far from the tree. Don't really mean to offend anyone, but that's just the way it is. :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

i've experienced similar ethnocentrism among americans abroad aswell unfortunately. I try to avoid large groups of Americans (and Israelis) when overseas, in my experiences they're loud, narrowminded, disrespectful, and pains in the ass. But the Americans and Israelis i've met whom travel solo are completely different! Always interesting, and open minded individuals that make good travel buddies (and somewhat embarrassed about their compatriots behaviour)
ps. i've met some wanker australians overseas (and in australia :p ) i wish these yobos would stick to |
