So this guy at work today (who's already been under suscpision of stealing ipods) got canned for being drunk.

He comes back 45 mins later piss hammerd, and he's just like 'lalala"
so they kick him out.

he comes back 45 mins after than and is passed out in the lunchroom coverd in mud.

so they call a cab and send him on his way, but he's like 'wtf..i lost my bag"

they couldn't find it so w/e.

After work is done, i walk over twoards my bus stop, and what could that be? his bag..

so i pick it up ,and take it, and i think..cool, i'll just bring it in to work at 10:00 and be a hero tonight.

i get on the bus and decide to rummige through it, and in his bag, are 10 ipods.

10!F!#!$)FLA

wtf am i to do? if i bring them in, buddy might go to jail, and at leaslt get a criminal record, but i'll look like a hero, i could just steal 1, but that's just as bad as stealing 10.

i also found a 40 of vokda thats got about 1/4 left..but i wont touch that either.

hopfully if i bring it back, i'll look like a super hero and get a raise.

the end.

Moral Hazard
If you bring the Ipods back you're doing what would be generally considered the morally correct thing to do. If, however, you are expecting some sort of reward other then personal satisfaction you will be woefully disappointed. There is little to no chance your employer will reward your good behaviour, such action on the part of an employer is no longer present in North America (I suspect Europe as well).

If you take one and return the rest you can rest assured things will turn out badly for you. They will question the now former employee who will likely admit to stealing 10 because 10 or nine makes no difference but coping to 10 when only nine were returned sets you up for a fall too (if he's disgruntled he will want to take down anyone he can). If he admits to 10 and you have only returned nine the logical conclusion that your employers will reach is that you took the missing one. This only makes sense because anyone not connected with the store would have taken all of them rather then finding the bag, taking one, and leaving the rest.

With regard to your initial question, I think Jesus would be confused as trying to figure out what an Ipod was and what a bus stop was. Beyond that, I suspect he would forgive the theif of his sins, cure him of his alcoholism, liquidate the Ipods and use the proceeds to purchase fishing equipment for a leaper colony so that they may become self suficient. Oh, he'd likely drink the vodka, Jesus and his buddies were heavy into the sauce.

Encouraging irresponsible behaviour is why I'm here!

There's the key word in the sentence. If you actually said it in this manner, it would indicate that you didn't individually count the Ipods in the bag but rather visually estimated how many there were. You're fine.
