Sounds more like you need to familiarize yourself with the Philtre
than a manufacters defect.

No it is a manufacturing defect, although very slight. The center of the push button is not exactally in the middle, so to get a bypass you need to hit the top left of the button. If i hit the middle then it might not deploy.

It's not at all about being familiar with the unit. It's about adapting to the off-center button.

I think its just my unit... if my supplier has more inventory then i will replace it, otherwise i'll just live with it, since the unit itself is great.

Mine kinda did that out of the box with the tap tempo button..

I just messed with it for a little bit....I just tapped it like I would if I was mixing. Now its fine. Maybe it gets "off center" during shipping...

I just re-checked mine and, as I mentioned previously, what
you are experiencing, does not apply to mine.

I don't know if its because I'm more heavy handed or what,
but, no issues with mine.

do i need a footpedal for this? i read something about a footpedal, if so, which is a cheap practical one i could get?

May as well drop this in here than make a new thread:

Pioneer EFX-500 vs EFX-1000.

Is the 1000 really worth it? Is it that much better?

ok, if i had 2 how would i hook one up to each cdj (lets say i have 2) i have seen erick morillo with like 3 cdjs and 3 filters hooked up to each
OMNIFEX
CDJ1 -> Alesis1 -> CD1 Input

CDJ2 -> Alesis2 -> CD2 Input

CDJ3 -> Alesis3 -> CD3 Input

I was thinking about doing something like you wanted as well.
But, I didn't like how the CD's output would overdrive the
Alesis input.
