I might be going to Greece because I've always wanted to go there. I have friends in France, Germany, and Poland so I have a few places to choose from. Or I might just stay in Canada for the summer...maybe go to Montreal and Vancouver.
ANd if I can't even afford THAT I'll be stuck in Ontario all summer lol :nervous: |

I totally forgot that you were in Greece.. i'll definitely give you a shout if the plan ends up there. I may just to head to EU instead of Asia because I want be around during the worldcup & loveparade. You should come up to Berlin too if you can. |

wow, lucky guy, how much would a trip like that set you back? i'd definately take the asia expedition, that would be an unforgetable experience. i've always wanted to go to thailand.

Not too much really. The biggest expense is travel. Once your there staying at hostels and shopping at the supermarkets for food instead of eating out every time saves a ton of money. First thing I do when I get to a new city is scope out where the supermarkets are while I head to my hostel.
I've heard from a friend who was just in Japan that it isn't a whole lot more expensive then Toronto when it comes to food, entertainment and so on. And hostels in Tokyo are plentiful. As for Thailand, i've had a few friends go and they rave about how cheap things are over there.. most of the expenses again are in transport.
Funny thing is though, i've never been to any Carribean Isle.
So far the few times i've been to EU and so on, I generally allot 1grand a week for everything which includes transport, food, entertainment, lodging. If you've gone for two weeks and end up spending 2G, but your flight was $800 and taking the trains visiting 4 cities comes to $300, really you've only spent $900 for the rest of your trip for an entire two weeks, which is VERY cheap. :thepirate
EDIT: here's to give you an idea..
This was the exact total cost for my two weeks in Spain which included -- Madrid, Barcelona, Granada and Seville. Ofcourse some countries are more expensive then others. Spain just so happens to be cheaper then the rest.

I will be going to the UK & EU pretty often during the months of April-July. And then Ibiza in August! :)
Oh, and have to visit some friends in Amsterdam too. |

so far my plan includes
May 11: fly to manchester
May 17: fly to greece, go up to corfou island, up thru austria, croatia, hungary , then down into Italy
May 28: fly to ibiza, find job/apartment
July 1: fly up to amsterdam for Sensation White
(either travel to Berlin and hit the Love Parade, or head immediately back to Ibiza)
August 9: fly to amsterdam, meet sisters
August 14 - 30: Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Czech, Andorra, France (maybe), Spain, Portugal (maybe)
August 31: Back to ibiza (if i have $$$ left)
September 17: fly home
this is the rough and tentative sketch. i'm so excited. ppl come visit me in ibiza!!!!!!! |

April 30th....finishing school
after that maybe hitting up UK, Ireland, Scotland, Greece
Back to Taipei to work for the summer....do some backpacking in China and Vietnam. |
