It's being held on the July 15th this year, clashing with Love Parade, unfortunately... but last year's lineup was insane.

good choice.. the Spanish festivals are insane ..

another one worth taking a look at is Benicassim which is actually Spain's largest with Sonar, Creamfields Andalucia, and Monegros Festival coming in close behind it ..

che
if anyone will be in or around Greece in August i suggest hitting up the island of Mykonos. Its a quick ferry ride from Athens.

I stayed in Florence, Venice and Roma. Visited Pisa, and Pompeii.

Can't decide which I liked best, Venice or Florence - both such beautiful cities. Make sure you go up the Duomo in Florence. And in Venice, just walk around and get lost. It was fun just to wander around the city. Feed the pigeons in Piazza San Marco - although everyone says it's really gross since they sit all over you and they are the equivalent of rats - it was still a blast.

I liked Rome but i found it to be too dusty and hot and crowded (even in May when all the other cities i went to were not so). We did the reg Rome visitor stuff - Colleseum, Trevi Fountain, all amazing. Watch out for pick pocketers - really keep an eye on your things. I was lucky but then again, i kept my day bag in front of me the whole time and made sure my zippers weren't easy to open.

And anywhere in Italy if you want a coffee don't sit - they charge more than twice the price. Just stand at the coffee bar or something. We learned it the hard way :p Oh and make sure you try the pizza and the gelato - OMG to die for!! It's a good thing I didn't stay there longer, i'd honestly be 20 lbs heavier :p Oh and you shoudd go to the Vatican Museum and St Peter's.... it's just unreal.

Are you going with a tour company? I did and it was alright - the guide gave us a lot of info.

Thanks for all the tips, Lillian!! I've seen pics, and Venice looks absolutely beautiful! I'm sure I will love it!

I am travelling on my own and have made up a day-to-day itinerary - with the help of Fodor's. :toothless The book does mention the bit about not sitting down for coffee. hehe Pizza will be on the menu a few times, I'm sure, since it is one of my favourite dishes. I'll also make a point to try out their gelato, gnocchi, wine (of course!) and olive oil. Any recommendations for breakfast?

Pretty much the only things in doubt are where I will be eating. If you can remember some nice restaurants, that would be really helpful.
