Nice setup! Although I think you mean DDR2 Ram. DDR3 RAM is still in prototype phases. Anywho we'll have to swap sample sometime! I really didnt go all out on the video card just cause I dont really game or need anything hardcore like that but still wanted the dual monitor capability I currently have.

And I probably need to get your input on on keyboards/synths/workstations cause I'm looking at getting a triton and/or possibly a virus.

interesting to see you guys using the non-common platforms for creating music, props to you guys!

I could list my but I don't have the time. I use both PC and MAC, but production work 95% comes from the dual G5.

The memory plus the video card I got more to run World of Warcraft to the max rather than audio production :o but I will admit it does help make the programs run smoother on the fly when displaying the waveforms.

As far as hardware, I've only used mainly what I own and fiddled around with the other synths at guitar center. Most of the headliner producers I've talked to say they use the softsynths in Logic. I think you would dig the Roland 909 tho.

If you ever want to swap any production ideas, samples, whatever Im down. Now that I dont have the full time labor job tying me down, it really frees up the schedule.

actually I read somewhere that gabriel and dresden (or was it deep dish) use Cubase SX 3 (which is basically Nnuendo without some the bells and whistels) to do alot of their stuff.

It can be addictive the first few months, especially if you have played the first 3 games as the storylines, characters and geography are all in this one. Ive already gotten both my horde and alliance characters to lvl 60 so I only reallly log on peak hours when theres a good battleground match going on. Where I liked the game the most was playing it with the games music off and the new promos or tracks I've purchased playing in the background.

Keeping the internet off of your production computer is a good call. I honestly wish I had a seperate computer for internet and gaming, but all in due time. What kind of motherboard you have? The ABIT I have has a max of 4gbs, which in my opinion I havent noticed too much of a difference when I had 1gb on my old computer. Then again...I wasnt doing much production work on it either. Im sure with 8gb you can run a load of simultaneous plug-ins.

yeah I got an ASUS motherboard. Those hoes are good for damn near anything (especially gaming). But yeah I was worried about not having enough PCI slots for all my cards but this mobo has an intergrated nic card as well as plenty of USB 2.0 slots and other e as well.

who built your system? or did you buy it.

I bought the parts for it and my father put it together. He's ripped up and rebuilt computers to run his Flight Simulator stuff. I had the audiophile and the first 7800 from the first computer..although I had trouble running the 7800 cuz the power supply was only 330w vs the 600w I have now. Regarding Mac laptops like the G4, I wonder if most producers buy theres or how those are customized for live performances.
