| Anyone else think it's pretty disturbing at how much more interested Americans are in the Olympics than in current problems (i.e. our INSANELY huge national debt, piece of president, current "war", etc.)???? |

| I think it's more disturbing that you have a piece of sh*t president in the first place. One can forgive people for wanting to forget that fact by watching TV, laughing of Cheney shooting someone, or caring about sports. |

it's extremely disturbing and shameful who my president is, and how the hell he even managed to be 'elected' and 'RE-elected' in the first place. IF ONLY people used TV to displace their concerns regarding the downward spiral of the u.s., but i'm sad to say that people don't care and are SEVERELY ignorant to the daily shame that the bush administration inflicts on itself. |

LMAO
sports are there to take distractions out of the troubles in our life...thats not their purpose but thats what they do plus any sensible American doesnt allow that to happen and I dont really see your point in this as for one these Olympics have been terrible in the ratings and not many are watching. There are still tons of focus on certain stories in the news...
they are over anyway |

Oh well, considering how much more they're concerned with superbowl or NBA playoffs, the olympics aren't really that bad. Especially since olympics kinda give out that international feeling that's missing from the local competitions. |

That scares me! And the fact that a percentage of the people who see that go "ohh yeah... it's true". |

Its called democracy ;).
Stupid thread. Just because the country is in war, and many of you seem to disagree with it, it doesnt make the US an evil country. Didnt US have like 25 medals, second on the Olympics after Germany? Wish they had more then Germany, so I could tell you, what WE ARE THE IN BEST, but we didnt :p. |

Oh come on. Regardless of what's going on in the world, every single individual in the world has a personal obligation to live their lives. There's always gonna be some going on in the world, but you gotta live. You wanna be miserable your whole life? Take some time to appreciate the positive in the world. And if you don't have the stomach for it then please just don't watch it.
Watching this Bode character for the U.S. around and make and ass of himself has been rather entertaining to watch. Some of the female curling teams are downright sexy, and snowboard cross ing kics ass! The national debt isn't going to go anywhere in 2 weeks. Make some time for some international good will even if you don't care to find time to be a spectator.
Remember to live your life and enjoy the fact that other people are living theirs. Relax. |
