for arguments sake, lets say it is true. what would be the motivation & goal of doing that??? |
To provoke the Iraqis, increase the threat of terrorism, consolidate more power, take away more freedoms and liberties.
EDIT: What the point of torturing and sexually abusing people (including women and children) who have nothing to do with terrorism? |

so youre saying the US actually wants civil war (the logical outcome of engaging in such acts of provocation)? thats pretty far-fetched imo. |

OMG...9-11 wasn't a big enough fantasy-conspiracy, now you guys have to say that the car-bombings in Iraq are too? What's next? The "Insurgents" are all faked as well? They're American Special Forces Soldiers, dressed up like enemy combatants and firing on their own troops?
To provoke the Iraqi's to do what? And why would the U.S. want to increase the threat of terrorism? What, of all things, would that possibly accomplish and how would that help us? And how does faking bombings help one to "consolidate power"? And lastly, "take away more freedoms"....by what; Faking car-bombings?????
Stay away from big sound-bites that you can't discern, because speaking in sound bites doesn't, by default, make one sound more knowledgable. |

US cannot bomb civilian areas, for fear of protests from Iraqi side.
So suppose if a 'terrorist' is know to be hiding and getting support from someone in that building, US woudnt want to bomb the whole place from a chopper (which will definately have childrens and women in the casualties list) and attract international media wrath on them.
So instead they send someone disguised as an Iraqi with bombs, he goes bombs the place killing everyone, including 'terrorists', but in the end it looks like a terrorist attack and US is saved from media and local people's wrath.
The blame for casualities is shifted and job is done. |

To maintain complete confidentiality of the plan. US Army cant trust them, real iraqies can always leak the plan to fellow iraqies. Or more better use the bomb to blast Americans. |
