I'll happily admit there are situations where there are more important things than speed limits. Policemen should be more aware of that as well.
The one this thread was started for does not really seem like one to me, though. |

/fyi 88 in a 65 might be reckless driving depending on the state you're in. |

it differs from state to state. in ms, for example, defensive driving school gets your ticket completely off the record, but you have a 2-year probation, and can go to that defensive driving school only if you're under 21. it costs somewhere around $30 here - just a 2.5 hour lecture.
as a general advice for future, as long as you go not more than 8-10 mph over the speed limit, the chances of you getting pulled over are very slim. my boss is always driving around 10 over the limit, and hasn't had a single ticket in more than 14 years!
and yeah, 23 over the limit is a ing lot. in ms, anything over 15 is already considered a reckless driving with a whole different punishment. |

man i hear ya heheh sucks when you get a tix but ok .. here is what i did
they cought me doing 100 over in 80 zone so i told the cop i got to go an take a crap he didnt belive me so he didnt let me go an so i went to court an ;) in like first 10 min my lawyer presented my case ... and i was offf that tix :d now im fighing 3 other ones :d so just make some crap up :D
thats if your in canada ;) |

oh yeah, as for the court date...
the cop who gave you the ticket has to appear in court personally. if you can adjourn the court date to a date when he's on vacation or something (i dunno how you're gonna find that out) and he won't be able to appear in court, the court will rule in your favor. |

haha no :d i paid like half price of my ticket it was well over 600 $ so i will rather give 300 to him to get it off then pay full price and plus get on my liscense right ?
we got a ticket specialist in winnipeg who does that job he was a cop an man he can put thoes tickets off my friend is still fighting tickets like that he got 3 years ago ;) so why not |

i took my only ticket to court. The court fees ended up being cheaper than the ticket.. plus i got no points
i got it for wreckless driving so it was $$ + 3 points or something like that.

speeding tickets say on the back how much you have to pay depending how much you were going over the limit. [ atleast in FL ] sux pro!! miss ya

But seriously, I just got a ticket for 65 in a 55. I didn't give the cop any bull and I plan on paying the ticket. I knew damn well I was going above the speed limit. Responsibilities the game, cracka killa. |

your assuming that having that low of a speed limit is correct.
what id do is look through the yellowpages and talk to people about lawyers to take care of the ticket. Here in vegas a lawyer can get any speeding violation reduced to a parking ticket easily and you only pay a parking ticket fine. I got a ticket for 60 in a 35 and only had to pay $140, no points, and nothing else.
