TOTA-NYTA Pre-PVD dinner meet-up (pg. 2)

Don't know if I'll attend, but why would you go to Pizzeria Uno, a chain pizza place, when you've got a ton of much better pizza places/italian places? Also, why the Seaport one? There's a Pizzeria Uno on like 11th and 3rd Ave., which is a lot closer to everything than the Seaport.

I'd recommend Two Boots Restaurant on Ave. A and 3rd (i think). There pizza is really good and the restaurant has some other italian dishes as well.

Christina gives her nod of approval to Patsy's, though I haven't been.

Hey guys,

Folks from the 2 coolest cities in North America are converging this weekend for the Ferry-PVD double header. We're planning this on Saturday at 5:30P so that people have time to chill/digest-food/and get ready for the evening ;) Here are the restaurants most nominated:

1. Uno Chicago Grill - 89 South Street Seaport
http://www.unos.com/great.html

PROS: We've had other meet-up here before so we know what to expect. They can seat a lot of people. Cheap food.

CONS: It's very far from our homes and is very far from Roseland.

2. Patsy's Pizzeria - 23rd Street by 8th Ave
http://www.patsyspizzeriany.com/menus.htm

PROS: About 2 blocks from where the TOTA's are staying in Chelsea so it's very convenient. Authentic NYC coal fired pizza. Good cheap food.

CONS: Don't know if they can seat more than 12 at once - may have to split into 2 adjoining tables.

3. Rosa Mexicano - 62nd and Columbus Ave
http://www.rosamexicano.info/servlet/locations/nyclc

PROS: Suppose to be very good mexican with awesome drinks. Closer to Roseland Ballroom - about a 10 block walk

CONS: Could be very pricey. Don't know if they can seat more than 12 at one table.

Okay so please vote/discuss/diss/and babble away.

Almost forgot! If you make a suggestion, here's some criteria:
* Needs to seat more than 12 people
* Should be close to either Chelsea (23rd) or Roseland
* Should have a varied menu to accomodate the carnivores and herbivores or some other diet restriction ;)

I'll put in the reservation on Wed ;)
i work @ rosa mexicano :D

very good food.. a bit on the pricy side. drinks in ny in rosa are 10 dollars for a frozen pomagranit margarita.

but the food is exellent.

I'm sure the food is great...and I would love to go there sometime...but I know I can speak for all of the TOTAs I'm going with in that we're trying to make this the cheapest trip as possible b/c we're all quite broke right now!! :(

Shut up Guat... You work at the one here in Atlanta... Have you no shame?!? Will you troll any forum?!? What does a Guatemalan know about Mexican food?!? :) Three questions I will know know the answer to in life... I KEED I KEED!!!

As for my vote, The fat kid will eat anything so just point me toward the food! (cheap and good are two main factors!) Only request is it be something that I can not get here in Atlanta.... SHOW ME NYC!!!

Okay how about a time then? 5:30 is way too early. Let's say 7 okay? Any Italian restaurant/ pizzeria that is NOT chain is fine.

Sorry, no that's not okay for us. We have to meet someone coming in from the airport at 7:30. Also...the girls need time to get ready. There's no way we'll have time to get ready, and personally I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing what I'm wearing to a restaurant. I would also like to have some time to digest my food before we go.

Sorry about that...but especially the issue with our friend arriving from San Francisco, I asked Fran to hold the pre-meet this early.
