| Yes, keep saving until you can afford a plasma. A LCD is a bmw...get them Benz. |

| plasma is good for now, but in the long run it burns out, it's life expectancy is much lower than LCD's. although it's picture quality is much sharper. |

HP just released some really nice LCD's.. and so has Sony. Sony will most likely be the most expensive, but in my experience the picture is the best hands down. I guess it's all personal taste.
Go over to the CompUSA across from the Beverly Center. They seemed to have one of the best selections I have seen in the area. |

thanx for the suggestion people..the new HP 26 inch LCD is made with Sharps's LCD so the picture quality is acctually damn good..i think ima gonna get the SONY since the sharp LCD cant really use as a computer monitor.
The only down part i heard bout SONY is dat they installed some sort of spyware onto your computer if you use the monitor. It will not allow you to DL songs or copy songs i heard.*_* who knows.. |

| I bought a refurbed sharp 23" LCD monitor from Ubid for $700. It's got digital and analog computer inputs. Resolution is 13xx X 768. It works fine as a monitor. |

Sony has since removed all the instances of this problem, as they were about to face some big lawsuits!.. But I beleive this had nothing to do with their TV/LCD's... |

| some of you guys seem uninformed. Plasma is VERY VERY bad for small size tv/monitors. That is the reason that you see them stop at 42". thats when LCD becomes the superior technology. if they could produce lcds with perfection at the same sizes as plasma they would out perform plasma. if your looking for a badass LCD and dont mind spending a bit get an apple cinema display. overpriced imho but very good. the only thing you will need is an ADC to DVI adapter (if its not the new ones anyways. didnt notice they changed)as the ADC connector integrates the power into it. the only downside to the 30" apple display is you MUST have a high end video card as it requires a dual-link dvi output. these have always been very good monitors...just expensive. you can get the 23" for 1300 and the 30" for 2500 at pricewatch.com. do some research before you buy. |

The Samsung LCDs are easily better than the Sony ones.
When it comes to HUGE Plasma displays, they beat out LCDs. Sorry. Some of the plasma's I've seen (which haven't come out to market yet) are so sharp it's scary....most beautiful blacks I've ever seen (using downtown Tokyo at night as an example).
Too bad the cheapest TV that has this quality will be like $20,000 :p
LCDs are great. Go with them. :p |

I just bought a 26" Panasonic LCD for $1039. tax included thru a friend's discount with Panasonic. Those LCDs are like $300. more at Circuit City and other similar stores. I can hook up my PC and like 6 other goodies. Check www.panasonic.com for more info on their LCDs and other TVs.
The plasmas are super nice but they don't last that long and they cost a whole lot more.
I think my next TV (as if I need more) will probably be the Sony 40" (maybe it 42") projection HD TV.
If you or a family member has a Costco membership, you can purchase a TV through them and you have like 6 mos. to return it. :toothless |
