as ablefunk said, its been around for ages...

however more electro styled house is being produced off late and well the trends are set based on availability (this goes for clothing, cars, gadgets etc)..

some of the tracks u mentioned, yes they DID come out over a year ago (the ones that i recognize) but that was when people DID notice the elecro trend...dunno how u havent noticed people mentioning electro house on here...oh wait now i know why...cos everyone sbeing saying DDTT instead:rolleyes:

history repeats itself every other decade, in the 90s we saw a similarity in music(amongst other things) to music. Now if u notice, not only in electronica but even in rock, the 80s synthpop style has become quite prevelant (franz ferdinand, modest mouse, etc etc)

so just consider this as something that if not prevelant, will at least linger on fro a couple more years

*waits for the elitests to disagree*

think about it.

trendsetters are usually in their mid-late 20s.

say someone was born in 1979, during their childhood, they loved certain music, they are now 26/27...after having done all theri school or rather reach the mature age blah blah, they start pursuing music. the most vital part of them, their childhood memories, kicks in. they start making stuff based around that..

i guess cos i dont have a PHD in psychology and havent written articles, i have no theories...so lets leave it at then alright? alrright.

I think the Swedish House Mafia, coupled with Bedrock was one of the driving forces behind the recent popularization of subliminal/tech/electro house that is so prevalent in Toronto clubs these days. Somehow, around the time this sound came to Toronto it was changed.. for the worst.

Whereas the subliminal/tech/electro house sets spun by the swedish house mafia djs and digweed (and other pioneers of the sound) had great flow due to their effective balancing of their progressive sound with raw tech/electro beats. However most DJ's who try to spin this type of music in clubs sadly focus on the raw tech/electro beats at the expense of the progressive side. For me, this produces isjointed sets as raw beats are dropped one after the other with no forethought. I call it the "dance for 30 seconds, wait for 30 seconds, dance for 30 seconds, and repeat" effect.
