I went to NIU for 5 years. Ottos is a dump and they are no longer easy to get in if you arent 21
And never EVER goto "bar 1" @ niu. I know that place inside and out. I DJ'ed there for 3 years when it was known as Amnesia. New owners bought the place and tried to turn it into 'true nightclub' in their eyes. Music sucks, the DJ's are chumps [at least last year] and the drinks are beyond overpriced. |

| In calgary, parking is the same price... and it's CALGARY! Doesn't hold a flame to Chicago!! I went there last summer and i loved it. Why didn't you take the train? Would have been cheaper then paying for parking, tolls and gas... |

cause i like the freedom of having a car. next time i might just park in one of the northern suburbs and take the metra into downtown. |

what's worse is living inside the city, parking your car under the big leafy trees and having birds poop all over your car, everyday, all summer.
i really wanted to buy a shotgun to blast those focking birds! |
ugh i used to hate that - happened everytime i stayed with my friend in wrigleyville.
parking in Chicago is a bitch... first time i ever went there i paid $30 to park near Vision. i really miss paying $8 to park in the lot across the corner from Vision, now it's like $20 to park there. at least there's that cheap $10 lot across from Soundbar. there's a lot of places that will really rape you for parking, you just need to find the cheap ones.
but yeah, none of that seems bad at all compared to NY. i used to go broke just having to pay for tolls to Long Island every weekend when i was living there. |

Waiting for the break of day. Searching for something to say. Flashing lights against the skyyyyyyyy. Giving up I close my eyes. Sitting cross-legged on the flooooor. Twenty-five or six to fourrrrrrrrrr. |

myra myra myra!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if you're not an expert vision clubber than you definitely do not know! every time i partied at vision i never paid for parking. you just gotta drive around 15min to find street parking. in the worst case scenario, you may have to walk 5min. a good area to find street parking is to the west of the rock and roll mcdonalds.
also
dj2kta (Tom) also found a really cheap place for paid parking, 3 blocks south of vision.. i think 5 or 10 bucks? i dunno.... |

i know... Nick (ninja_k) told me years ago that you just have to drive around til you find a spot on the street. it worked for a while but the last year or so, every time i go down there i find NOTHING... not to mention then i end up driving around for 45 min sitting in traffic trying to find a spot - so it was usually worth it to me to park in the lot, especially when it was only $8.
hah i still remember when i parked on the street for PVD @ House of Blues in Nov '03, my car was like 5 blocks away and when i got there the line for the coat check practically wrapped around the entire place... so i talked the girl working the door into letting me run back to my car, and then i ran back in a tank top in freezing temps. it was totally worth it though 'cause i didn't have to stand in line forrrrrever. |
