Hey all,
I finally got my rowing machine on Tuesday and im really trying to loose some weight and get fitter. At the moment im 6'2" and i weigh just under 16 stone (224lbs or 101kg) I quite big built naturally but i want to get fit for the summer.
Yesterday i done 2km (1.25miles) on the rower in 16 minutes
Today i done 4km (2.5miles) on the rower in 30 minutes
According to the computer on this i burn about 60 calories per km.
I'm looking for a good programme to do, i'm looking at buying some 35kg weights and using that as a warm up/cool down. My diet (for the past 2 months) has been no breakfast, mackerel or salad for lunch then a normal dinner. No caffine since christmas, just fruit and green teas and i've been taking Ginseng and Vitamin tablets.
Does anyone want to come up with a work out programme and give me any pointers on diet or working out.
Thanks alot guys. |

My first suggestion would be to start eating breakfast.
Then, I would ask you what your goals are; are you looking to lose weight or gain muscle or a combination of both? |

I feel sick whenever i have breakfast and it makes me lethargic for most of the day. I do somethimes have an apple around mid morning though.
I'm trying to do a mixture of both, the idea is use the rowing machine for cardio and muscle build all over...and use weights for building my arms up abit more.
But tbh i dont have a clue so u guys tell me :p |

| Eat a bowl of oatmeal every morning. You'll feel better and get stronger, faster. |

Hmm... Well, whatever is as close to oatmeal is good, I guess.
Also, a great breakfast/snack is:
1/2 cup blueberries
6 strawberries
1/2 cantaloupe
1 cup non-fat cottage cheese
1 tsp honey
Dice up the cantaloupe and strawberries into 1/2 inch pieces. Then mix it all in a bowl. Eat up!
You can replace the fruits with basically any ones you like. ;) |

at Ballys and we made a workout schedule:
Back traps bis legs one day
chest traps shoulders legs
depending how many days you work out you could do this every other day |

| had my first real workout today at the school gym. not really feeling the burn even though I did push myself quite a bit but Im sure Ill be feeling it tonite. Benched a few (dont recall the exact number), ran on the treadmill a bit, tried the bike thingie, a few vertical sit ups and some other things I cant remember atm. It was a good workout overall and I definetly wanna give it a go again and maybe get into it and start doing it for real regularly. |
