In my ty-ass ry (Australia)
there are no radio stations dedicated to electronica. There is only one that plays electronic for a solid amount of time but its always late on a Sunday night, and only for a few hours.
How many electronic stations do u guys have in the states? |

| Most of the stuff on the radio is Hip-Hop and R&B, then emo screamo bullsht. There is no radio station in the states dedicated to electronica. but there is Satellite Radio which i love, i prefer Sirius because you get howard stern as well. |

In North Carolina, you cannot escape Hip Hop. In a place so central to the Hip Hop Scene (take you shirt off and twist it in the air), escape should not be expected. The clubs play hip-hop. The mix stations play hip-hop. The pop stations play hip-hop. The rock stations play hip-hop. The indie college stations play hip-hop. And when they don't play hip-hop on these channels, they play R&B, Emo, or Nu Metal. The only stations that don't play hip-hop are the country stations, and, well, they play country.
Every so often, you can find a station with some good real metal, maybe some prog rock or post rock. The NCSU channel plays dark, progressive and psychedelic trance late, late at night. My friend and I were very pleased one night to hear Trancesetters - Roaches play on that station.
Suffice to say, you have to look hard for good music in the states. I think it's the same anywhere else. The most accessible stuff sells, plain and simple. |
