It's a CD! It's a DVD! = The DualDisc

It's a CD! No it's a DVD! It's two discs in one: "The DualDisc".
The DualDisc has both a CD player side and a DVD side, allowing
artists to create in exciting new ways using audio, video and
computer content - all on a single two-sided disc. One side is the
full-length CD audio album. The other side offers DVD content. This
may include enhanced album audio, 5.1 surround sound, music videos,
artist interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, documentary films, photo galleries, lyrics, computer-ready digital song files, and Web links.
It all depends on the artist. How Can you Tell Which Side Is Which?
Each side is clearly marked for play on a CD or DVD player. The DVD
side of the DualDisc offers superior audio. Many DualDiscs include
surround sound mixes that have been specially created during the
recording process. When listened to on a 5.1 channel surround system,
the result is a rich, three-dimensional musical experience. We
recommend using the DVD side if you have a DVD player in order to
enjoy the entire album in enhanced audio and the additional DVD
features. The DVD side plays wherever a DVD plays - including many
gaming consoles and computers. In a PC, the DVD side acts like a
DVD-ROM on DualDiscs that include computer extras and Web links.
The CD side plays on all but a limited number of CD and DVD models.
Another useful tool of the Dualdisc is for marketing. If you're not
sure which format your end-user has as a playback device, the Dualdisc covers all bases.

| I remember back then when DVDs used to be dual sided, One side was full screen, The other was widescreen. Thank goodness they started releasing movies only in widescreen after that. |

any1 else have any issues w/ these discs in their car cd players?
everytime i play these kinds of discs in my car, turn off the stereo, then turn it back on, sometimes it just sits idle for a while and I have to turn my stereo on and off multiple times to get it to play again. I have an Alpine player btw....not a stock one. |

That doesn't matter. It's not rare for the cheapo stuff to read special formats more easilly then the expensive stuff.
I believe you could always try and contact the manufacturer and bitch for them to send you a normal cd ( I know you can do that to some extent with copy protected cds ). |

No, those were for poor people like me that don't have widescreen TVs. Kind of pointless to watch widescreen movies on a regular old tube TV. |

| I have a regular TV but still choose widescreen if given the choice. A lot of is lost when putting it into full screen. |
