Steve Nash as repeat MVP?

i really think Nash is up for his 2nd consecutive mvp. statistically he's doing better than last year, but team-wise, without Amare, the Suns are ranked 4th overall. impressive!

last week, the Suns lost to the Spurs with Nash out, but won last night with him back in

are there any other contenders? kobe is good, but he's not as valuable to his team's success as Nash.

yes? no?

I'd say Elton Brand and D Wade have to be MVP contenders...

and Shawn Marion should get some respect, after being a stud for so many years...

Well you say that because the Suns are without Nash, just as you saw on the spurs game, but even if Nash would of played againts the spurs, they will wouldnt have a chance in the playoffs againts them, like you saw last year. You cant clearly say that Nash is an MVP every year just because he is thier best player, because you know Nash will always be good and will always win the Suns games.

Personally I like Kobe as an MVP this year..but I doubt he will win because we dont know if first he will make the playoffs or not, and the lakers record isnt too good. Now I also think Billups and Parker should win it also, because they both have played great and have carried thier teams throughout this year and when the regular season ends, these two teams will propobly stand at the top.

Dirk is on that list too..but bottom line is, I dont think Nash should get it, then again I wouldnt mind him getting it, he is a GREAT player.

Can't never underestimate Kobe hype, esp. after that 81 pt performance...

It all depends how many people have their head up their ass.

nash:
the mvp award is not about the postseason, it's about who is most valuable in the regular season. i remeber the year b4 nash came to phoenix, the suns had Amare, Marion and joe johnson.. and they failed to get into the playoffs. one year later, he accounted for a 20 or 30 win differential. now that's an mvp. this year is almost the same. they lose Amare, Joe Johnson, Qrich and they're still winning the pacific

kobe:
awesome talent, but the mvp is about team win totals, and the lakers do not have enough wins to justify kobe an mvp

billups:
awesome point guard, but the fact that the team is winning due to the other 4 players and not solely due to billups will probably work against him

parker:
he's having a great season for a point guard, shooting over 50% even but statistically he's not even in the top50. if parker wins ppl will be outraged

dirkDiggler:
same issue as Billups. also i have Diggler on one of my fantasy teams and he is not dominating, sometimes coasting and allowing his teammates to do the work
Spartan
I say Nash still deserves it.
Its not like his game has dropped off since last season, and who has gotten better? Certainly not Kobe, maybe Wade or Billups has, but as point guards go Nash owns both of them in assists, and his passing skills are just dazzling.

I don't even think Dirk should be considered for MVP. I know Nash can't play defense, but Dirk's defense is so porous, and its one of the main reasons the Mavs have never advanced to the finals.

If I'm not mistaken... the LA Clippers are in 5th in the west...

i would take brand's solid career, over chandler's potential anyday

,,,

also imagine if the bulls never traded any of their players

brad miller
elton brand
ron artest

and still have 20milion cap space to sign a quality guard

you think they'd have problems getting into the playoffs.. or even dominating the east?
Spartan
Imagine if the Wizards never traded any of their players... they'd be the Pistons.

Richard Hamilton
Ben Wallace
Rasheed Wallace

they also gave up on Chris Webber.
