De-clawing a cat seems a little cruel, don't you think? You should certainly invest in a suitable scratching post and have her spayed if she hasn't been already. I don't know if you ever saw the 'Cat Orgy' episode of South Park, but damn. You don't want that. Also, like Jackson says, spraying the cat with water when it does a naughty is supposed to be effective.
By the way, I completely realise the irony of saying that de-clawing a cat is cruel but spraying one with water and having it spayed is a good idea. |
declawing isnt cruel at all. after a few days, the cat is back to normal. |

So, you prefer an emotionally shallow animal? :p |
if by that you mean one who lies next to me, brings my shoes, wants to play football and doesn't just come near me when he wants feeding ? if that's shallow, sign me up :D |

I personally don't think having a cats claws removed is very humane, but others seem to think it's ok.
I mean, what were to happen if your cat were to get outside... (it does accidentally happen,) essentially your cat has been rendered defenseless without its claws, and is more likely not to come home at all, or if it does, with a lot of battle wounds.
Anyway, spraying the cat with water will deter him, and there are cat scratching posts that apparently work very well. I don't think there is any harm in trying one of those out.
If my memory serves me correctly, cats scratch things because they are trying to either:
-ease an itch on their paws
-more likely, trying to sharpen their nails
It may be a great idea to call your vet and ask what they think would be best. |

Yeah, wtf is up with that? Whenever I hear about cats running away, they always come back and have gotten the CRAP beat out of them by another cat.
Cat thugs! |
