i hafta admit, cheeze has its place in the trance world! it attracts liteners who dont know any better... hhaaa those and the techno remixes of stupid theme songs and other rubbish.
for me it wasnt a single song, but oakey's essential mix at space in ibiza... i loved that set, still do. its a classic! (hard to admit, but i liked a bunch of those cheeze songs too.)

my first Trance Song i heard was Mauro Picotto - Lizard (tall paul mix) off of the Clubbers Guide To... Trance CD. a friend lent me a tape of it saying how good it was. that was the first song i heard. the next day i went out and Bought Clubbers Guide and Oakies Tranceport.
i still have those songs in full rotation on winamp :) i love them all. |

| old thread but who cares......for me the first trance cd I listened to was Seb Fontaine(can't rember what Prototype #) but the 2 tracks that got me hooked were Push - Universal Nation and Good Shot - Hands Burn |

1998 was so not the dawn of trance! Try 1996 mate... or maybe even earlier! I know for a fact that I started buying trance vinyls in 1996...
I think it was Energy 52- Cafe Del Mar (3'n'1 remix) that got me hooked... back in the days when Pete Tong was playing it as a promo! That was the tune that made me progress from Piano House to Trance. And I still love it today!
I started on pure class, which is why I can't abide all this cheesy crap you find polluting the airwaves today.
