hey- do any of you have tips on how to make a request at a club and actually have it played?? ive seen ferry corsten 4 or 5 times and armin van buuren once or twice, and lately ive been trying to ask them to play certain tracks.

i always make sure that i request something thats in keeping with the progression of the set... and the tracks i request arent the likes of 'nothing but you' instead i try to pick relatively obscure tracks that they might have included once in a set that worked extremely well, but that they havent used since. almost like theyd forgotten about it, and they just need reminding!

so anyway i usually have a few tracks picked out and written down on notecards to pass up to the dj, be it ferry or avb. depending on how the set is going i decide which track to ask for. ive also tried writing a text message on my phone and holding it up for them to read.

unfortunately, i have yet to make a successful request!!:conf:
any tips?

thanks!

Lol :toothless

Throw your phone in the booth. That way it's easier for them to read your request. They will for sure give your phone back, they're nice guys :)

I recommend emailing them before hand. They usually have their sets figured out. If you give them some advance notice you may have a better chance of hearing your tune.

You do not bother the DJ when he's mixing. Perioid.

A couple of times I've managed to catch up a certain DJ before his timeslot and requested a tune and he's played it (tho he might have played it anyway, who knows)... but never ever during the set.

what about if you and 4 mates held up A4 sheets of paper with the track name right near the booth?

the only way to do track request in a club is to do up your hair lee hotti style and paint the track name on your chest and take your shirt off in the club, pump your fist so the DJ sees you and your request duh

funny thread :haha:

i think the least a dj could do, seeing as the patrons are paying to see them, is to honour a request once in a while. shows that they have flexibility and the skill to throw a request into their predefined sets.

so sasha... how bout some xpander then? ;)
