the only thing is, would people buy into the idea? its good so that everyone gets replies but as someone said before. but do you really want people giving a false analysis of your work? just so they get to post. i like the constructive critcism of my work its helped me develop immensely over the months but if people are going to say my work is good when its or vice versa it doesnt really help.

200 posts doesn't come easy, and should scare off any space leechers. rite?

If you guys haven't noticed, I've been posting these massive reviews to in the hopes of getting those with a talent for writing would also get inspired to truly obsever a piece of music.:o

I think 200 is a bit to much but if it scares of leechers then its good lol

the best would be if a new reply only showed up on your thread once you had replied to a randomly selected thread from that week.. would be complex but would force the 'eye for an eye' system... and i bet you would get replies from people that dont usually check your stuff..

The issue with that would be more spam though, because we could get serial users with *yo I liked it,keep it up!* :D.

thats a good point kopi. the worry for me is that new and genuine producers may get put off. but i suppose if there is a newbie/probation forum i would check out the new stuff they made if it interested me.

if new users wont be able to access the producer's forum, you'll have even less comments this way.

and after all, I don't see why you would change anything. if there's no as much comments in your topic as YOU would like to have, this means that the track wasn't attractive enough to make people want to comment. if you're trying to force them to post comment on your tunes, it will scare them, so you'll have even less.

Some good ideas floatin about here.
I do like the idea of some sort of preliminary forum, so people can't just come in and spam their arses off.
Good thread richy, you aren't as stupid as your scarf looks :p

If less is quality reviews then is a good deal dont you think? :)
And it does not means always that because u have few review the track is not good, I have heard top notch tunes with only 2 reviews, the issue it is we are full of people downloading, I will give u an example, the other day a guy added me, he said, hi I saw ur email addy in ur signature, downloaded ur music, is cool, I said, thanks, if u liked a comment it is welcome, and he said, no, I only go to the producers section to get free music, I never comment ...
We are not pretending to force none dude, we are pretending to have serious and genuine producers commenting, and posting their music as well.
Kopi =o.

I'm not sure if this was implied or not, but I think this would be a good idea if it were only applied to the music producers promotion forum.

I think new users NEED to be able to post new threads in the studio forum, or else there's little reason to join. I know when I join forums, it's usually on a whim, because I couldn't find the answer to something by searching. Then it's off to the reg screen.

New users of the forums are usually new producers anyway, so why would they need to use the promotion thread? And any pro producers that have some particular reason for joining would be fairly easily spotted anyway. I assume the mods are able to change user status on this forum (afterall, they're able to ban.)

But I think the posted limits have been a little crazy so far. I say two months, 50 posts. Spammers are not going to stick around that long posting random comments, especially if the limits are not advertised.

Whether you agree with my limits or not, I think you should keep in mind that the production studio is more for newbs, and the promotion studio is more for experienced producers. Maybe an amature song review forum could work, as then the newbs would be directed there by name alone as well, and the purpose would be more clear.

Anyway, good idea, but I think it should be limited to the Promotion Forum.

[edit]

And what's the point of newbs reviewing your track anyway... How bout not worrying about that.
