| You have to have the front ones and the back ones in all of Canada (but not Quebec). The States only uses the back ones. |

I know Michigan for sure doesn't, b/c I drive there all the time...for the most part none of the US states that I've been to do I recall seeing front plates...I"m not sure which ones do. |

You do not require a front plate in Alberta too. There are a few states in the US that do not require a front license plate. But the majority of states do require one in the front too.
I have got pulled over for not having a front license plate. Got two tickets (non moving violation) and plenty of warnings. Oh well...next!!!! |

| Apparently, it is also required here in Nova Scotia, but it is not enforced. |

the only state i know of that requires a front plate is New York. |

| In the United States, 19 states do not require an official front license plate, these states being Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia; U.S. territories Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and Guam also do not require an official front license plate. |
