A sick Ritual in Islam

Apparently, "baby cutting" is popular on "ashoura"- the day the muslims mourn the death of prophet Hussien son of Ali.
Does anyone know if this is actually true ?
the pictures were sent to me via an israeli site ...
I've tried researching, couldnt fine any articles.

| Seems like fake to me, or just someone who wants to defame Islam by exaggerating something that has nothing to do with Islam. I could be wrong though but I really really doubt it. |

So apparently the children do it to themselves, and the blood on the infants is probably their parents blood (or not, im not even going to pretend to understand these type of customs). Not so bad considering in some religions people put nails and stuff trough their skin and face to show their faith. And to think that i get upset if i get a papercut :rolleyes: |

It's a stupid Shia practice of "mourning" for Imam Hussain and his people (who got slaughtered by Yazid). Has nothing to do with Islam. Self-mutilation/self-inflicted pain is "haraam" (i.e. forbiden) in Islam. Get your facts right TRANCEEE. |
