In a word...LOUD. Something I'll never understand...when avalon decides to put the dj on the stage, they also put extra speakers on the stage with him in addition to the regular club speakers...THE CLUB SYSTEM IS LOUD ENOUGH. Jesus Christ I don't understand how anybody was out on the floor last night. It was wayyyyyyy too loud. I actually left early cause I couldn't take it anymore.
It was funny when me and dubs first walked in, but they were still selling from the Dropkick Murpheys concert right in front, but in the club you could hear Whalen playing house music...was kinda strange, but they got the place cleared out i guess and ready to go cause we were in by 10:30-10:45. But about the music...Alex whalen played a nice opening set. He's got some good taste in house music. Was really surprised to hear him play Last Ghost in Town (Brandaccio and Aisher Remix). Ferry played some bangin tunes. I really don't listen to much trance anymore, but dimethguy pointed out that he played his new track fire, which really killed the place. (cool to meet you by the way.) It was cool chillin with dubs and dimeth in VIP. Ferry was really working the crowd. I must say his mixing was not that great from what I could hear. There was a great vibe in the place, a lot of energy. Coolest part of the night was when ferry was chillin in VIP before he went on, and I got him to sign my right of way CD book and I got to exchange a few words with him. He seems like a class guy, really down to earth.
But seriously, if anybody from avalon management reads this, the sound was WAY too loud last night. You want to have clubgoers who can hear right? Those speakers on the stage are so unnecessary when you have probably the loudest sound system in new england. I wasn't on the floor for more than 10 mins last night. I cringe to think about how bad people's ears are ringing who stuck it out all night in the front. Cause mine are still ringing. |

in sick night. I've been to 2 ferry shows in nyc and never heard him spin that hard. He was havin a blast on stage...dancing, working the crowd and they ate it up. I couldn't ID a lot of the tracks and he's been spinning a lot of the same lately but not last night, he dropped a lot of new tunes, went primarily hard, tech-trance. One of the better shows of the year in Boston so far. Ferry's a class act, he was siging cds, t-shirts, talking to the crowd all during his set.
Armin in April should definitely be a good time.

Sick Night Last Night :tongue3 :eyespop: :happy2:  :toothless
It was nice to go to a big trance night for the first time in since Above and Beyond in Boston. I think Avalon definitely made some people deaf with the sound being obscenely/dangerous loud. Avalon has no clue what it's doing with the sound these days :whip: :whip: I'm not really that much into that style that Ferry played as I'm a house dj/fan but it's still great to once and awhile rock out to some trance especially drunk as all hell on st patricks day :)
Thanks for the drink Di-MethGuy and it was good as always chilling with Goochman. The Vip was rocking last night and that bar tender seriously was getting into the music and damn she can dance mmmm. It was cool to see Ferry in there just hanging out before his set with Dave Ralph and Pete Moutso who works Glow In DC.
Someone already mentioned the tracks that I recognized and I wish that he could have played his remix of synaesthesia which I still really enjoy :) Hopefully it wont be as long this time till the next Ferry visit here in Boston.
PS: Armin poses on railing of VIP FTW |

totally agree with Goochman (by the way was nice hanging w/ ya). Sound was WAY too loud.
Good to talk with Ferry for a little while in the VIP before he went on. And as always, good to hang with Sasha, err I mean Dubs :)
