I'm not sure what that means! But I can tell you what's wrong with it. First of all...I'm talking about the Canon Powershot sd300...not a monitor.
I had it in my hand with the screen towards my palm. And it was working fine...and then I turned it on and it was black in one spot along the side and there were a couple lines coming out of it and the rest of it was white and purple. I asked a couple people and they all said it was cracked...I don't know HOW that happened...but I'm not going to dwell on that.
There's no warranty saying that they'll replace the screen b/c it's physical damage...it's my fault (even if it really wasn't...but I can't prove it). Getting it fixed would cost me about $300 bucks though. My parents just recently got their camera fixed but it was under warranty. They told me though that the guy they spoke to said you'll rarely find a place that'll fix ANY problem for under $300. (Although I'm sure if you have connections, or you find a little shop or something you may get a better price).
I'm trying to view my options. So far, I can buy a new screen for about $100 bucks and try to replace it myself (Cale found me instructions on the internet), but that means risking messing it up and ruining everything. Or I could buy a new camera (I want to stick to the same type b/c of memory card and battery issues)...but that too would cost me about $300-$400 (even with staff discounts from friends) b/c it's hard to find a good quality store that caries my camera still. |

| I used to work in an electronics store for 4 years.... is there any physical damage to the cam? is no scratches or dents that make it appear to be dropped, then you should be OK. Ribbon cables are not soldered to circuit boards, they are slided in a slot. |

Yeah, that's my suggestion.
Less than a year old you're good to go. All manufacturer's warranties (with the exception of Creative) are 1 year. Take it back to where you got it. They'll have it fixed for free or give you a new one.
Problem solved. |

No dents of anything...I didn't drop it, it was in my hand the whole time.

I thought you said if it was a screen though it counts as physical damage which isn't covered |

The warranty terms of your camera with Canon, Lisa, are such that they won't honour the LCD screen at all, so say other people who have tried.
Apparently the screen on your camera and SD400s has been known to just spontaneously break like that, with no physical damage. |
