Victoria Rodriguez was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the age of 13, she started listening to such artists as The Chemical Brothers, Everything but the Girl, Deep Dish, Sasha, and Fatboy Slim to name a few. But it wasn.t until the age of 16 that her interest in dance music really started to grow, and so she began to learn more about electronic music, djs, producers and also started attending various parties and clubs.
When she turned 18, she decided to study music production at "Sonica", an electronic music school, and started producing her own music. The result of this endeavor was co-production of "Silent Pleasures" with another talented Argentine musician, Maindave. .Silent Pleasures. was played by HernáCattáo on his weekly radio show, "Resident live from London" on Metrodance Radio as well as many other important djs and producers. Ultimately the track is remixed by Argentina's rising star DarioEF.
In the meantime, Victoria started playing in small local clubs and pubs and after making a strong impression in the scene, she gets invited to play at Jacko's (an important Argentine underground club) and soon after gets an invitation to play at a Ministry of Sound event at Buenos Aires' illustrious Pacha. Victoria also was invited by Fibertel to play at Creamfields Buenos Aires 2005.
She has shared booth with many international and local artists like DJ Paul, Baunder, DamianDP, Gustavo di Tomaso, Plass and Logiztik Sounds, among others. Her DJ influences range from Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, Jimmy Van M, Danny Howells and Martin Garcia.
Without a doubt, she has been 2005's most notable breakthrough DJ in Argentina. Calling attention not only within her country but also abroad, she has garnered invitations to play at some of the most influential radio stations, Frisky Radio, Proton Radio, XTC Radio, among others. |
