Yeah, thats what i thought.
Either we prosecute women equally for sex crimes, or we let everyone do as they please. None of this half assed sexist application of the law.
And you think this is bad? Try getting a divorce! Something i hope to never have to experience although sadly ive watched our sexist laws destroy many good men's lives. |
while i agree the the laws are not being harsh enough on her, this thread alone shows the cause of it. Its public opinion that creates the laws..and the public opinion of most of the MALES (c'mon, give blame where blame is due) on this board think that this is ok, if not great! you blame the law, but really the cause of it is your friends and peers. change the views, change the laws
when i was in highschool a LOT of my girl friends had the hots for teachers. Its only normal. however, its the teachers responsibility as an adult to realize they are in a position of authority and shouldn't be doing that. so while many of you would like to "tap that ass", and that desire alone is fine, to actually be allowed to is not fine |

That's exactly what he said? He was just stating that a larger percentage of girls would have gone through puberty at 14, then males. He was pointing out that when you said "girls are more sexually developed than girls at this age", that science tends to disagree with you. |

My grade 8 french teacher was smoking hot and she never wore a bra. She would always lean over to answer questions from the guys. It was amazing how much we all wanted to learn about french that year.

but females physically develop at a younger age and are typically more mature then their male counterparts. the intensity of their desire is not correlated with their sexual development |

Girls hit puberty way before guys, thats a very well known fact.
In these types of cases, most people involved know whats going on, and want it to happen. This happened at my high school with a teacher and student. One teacher and a bunch of students caught a male teacher 'having relations' with a female student after comencement. The teacher was never charged, and it was just swept under the rug by those involved.
The girl was hot, and apperently the teacher was good looking.
2 years later a different teacher wasnt so lucky(same school). He was charged, and went through the legal system. |

there's a difference between being a horny 14 year old and having a genuine desire to engage in sex with an adult.
while "many" 14 year olds might like this scenario...I suspect that a very low number of them truly comprehend the context and consequences.
the real issue here is that the accused was in a position of authority/trust (being his teacher). It's for this very reason that while the age of consent in Canada is 14, and has been for decades, it's higher when one person is in a position of authority (it then becomes 16 or 18, I believe).
so consensual or not, she's screwed (pardon the pun :p) |

becasue teh kids parents dropped the charges becasue of anxiety from the media or some bull like that (don't quote me on that though)
its just disgusting how this has become so common in both male and female teachers. i've applied for teachers college for september, and its annoying as every new case is presented, the reputation of teachers get worse and worse. Children should feel secure in the trust for their teacher. This is so unacceptable, and the double standards make me sick.
its amazing how her fiance is still with her? i couldn't even imagine staying with someone after something like this. she could of at least said 'no comment' for the double standard question, opposed to saying, "i don't think there is one" making herself look like a complete fool. its also boggling, all the effort needed to be put in to become a teacher, and ruin it only 1-2 years in by doing something like this? what the hell? |

at 14 i clearly knew what i was doing and i would have clearly hit that....
a dude banged the bookstore lady at my highschool after school...and than went on to bang her for months....and the funniest part of the story is that her son was a student at the school at the same time and only a year older than us....this was gr 12. |
