So I don't know about everyone else, but this is along the lines of do you dance to anything other than EDM. That post anyway...

I have to say I love ALL music... anything with a beat, I dance to. I am a hugeeeeeee fan of "Afterhumps", and after Floorwhore sent me the recent sean miller miami final set, I am in love with around the 27:30 mark where he mixes Busta Rhymes (my favorite rapper)'s new song "Touch It"......QUALITY listen people...

AMAZING...

Mixing Hip Hop with Trance or Techno is a musical oxy-moron :p

I will admit I've heard some creative uses of it though (like the set you're referring to), and it depends completely on the content of the lyrics...

Edited genres I was referring to... I can't generalize to "EDM" since I'm not completely educated in all other types ;)

Especially chicago/funky house. If used sparingly, tracks with hip-hop vocals can really add to a set. (see: DJ Sneak)

then u have breaks, jungle and dnb which u have a million and one rap/hip hop tracks remixed that way....so yes it DOES go well with EDM.

but nooooooooo people who listen to EDM just know to diss rap/hiphop for the most part...(see that happen here all the time)

Just ask DJ Jazzy Jeff about that...he is great at bringing the two sounds together.

bingo!

+ their both African American music. They've always complimented each other.

Now, Rap w/ Trance or Techno just sounds cheese...for the most part.

yes we all know that...since all they use now is synths (well 95% off the tracks)

and then theres the teenie bopper songs by Ms. Spears and all that are also electronic by way of production
