So today I was listening to music in morning when all of the sudden the power went out in this ing ghetto; I got back home just now from work and my receiver won't turn on.
Anyone who knows a thing or 2 about electronics know what the problem might be? Any way to fix it? Or should I just chuck it out the window since the warranty expired anyways?
God I'm so ing pissed     I want music!!!!! |

| those crazy contraptions that you plug your dvd player, cable box, and any other audio sources into, so they can send the sound out to the speakers |

| Before you blow a bunch of money on a new one, check your fuse to make sure the surge didnt pop it. |

| see the funny thing is if i take the power cable out and plug it back in very slowly; some lights light up momentarily. My DVD, TV, Cable box and PC work; but the receiver won't turn on. |

Receiver aka amplifier that you can plug cd player/dvd player into it and it makes stuff come out of the speakers you hook up to it |

try unplugging it from the outlet it was in, then plugging it back in, and try and turn it on.
my stereo 4 my comp is that way. if the flow gets nuked, it shuts off and wont turn back on, but then you unplug it and voila, kaboom it works. |

that does not sound good. this happened to me once with my radio (thank god it wasn't my receiver. i would cry if it was), and the same thing happened. the lights flickered everytime i plugged my stereo in and out. so i left it plugged in, and a couple of days later, i try to turn my stereo on, and it gave the oh so scary electric pop to my fingertips and out in the air. that was the end of that. try plugging the receiver in another outlet ? maybe the outler is bad . then again, tribu said the same thing . |

hehe, gimme a little credit here guys...i may be polish but i'm not slow :p
first thing i did was unplug it and plug it back in; didn't work. then tried a different outlet: still didn't work.
i talked to my step-dad about an hour ago and he said that when they put the power back on, it sent a surge which caused the TV to flash on and off. I think that might've fried my receiver. now i'm thinking whether i should give hyrdo ontario a call so they could buy me a new receiver. i barely had this for a year; and i actually wanted to sell it to buy a better one.
...ugh...so much for buying cdj's in may  |
