[REVIEW w/ PICTURES & VIDEO] SPUNDAE - Localized... (pg. 2)

Damn what a fun night!!! I cought most of everyones set in the main room and Woody's in the back. I was curious about how many people were going to show up. We got there early and no one was there. Just Mike spinning. But by 10 it was getting crowded and towards the end of Mikes set, it was packed. It was great to see the locals getting this kind of support.

Its funny, I think I enjoyed this night more than most of the times when a huge name is playing. The music was at least as good but I guess knowing the DJ's makes it even more fun. Especially when the place is going off. Everybody threw down great sets. Not a single complaint.

Julia, your crazy!!! First of all I was shocked as hell to see you there. Secondly, you need to drink like that more often! Not less!!! We had so much partying fun with you and your friends. I was pretty plastered myself after three Long Islands (damn that boy made them STRONG!!!). The hour drive home at 4am sucked though :nervous:

Had fun partying with all the other poor TAs not in Miami and Spundae guy ;) Blew off Hypersky. Sorry man. I saw you and recongnized you but it didn't click. I was pretty toasted by then. In retrospect, it was a pretty ty TA turnout. Julia, Malia, Hypersky, myself and the DJ's were all I remember running into :whip:

Defintly looking foreward to the next Localized.

I told you Julia was having fun!!!

Another fantastic Spundae night. All the DJs kicked some major ass. Faded did a good job of kicking things off in the main room, and then Austin Scott came on and played an excellent set with one hand. Gil followed with some very good tracks, and Victor and Bob did a great job of finishing the night off. Also, Josh Allen was brilliant in the side room.

It was really neat hanging out with Colleen Kelly and her group. All in all - a kick ass experience.

Great seing Dan, Lisa, GPC, Julia, and the rest of the gang.

I wish I could have flown back from Miami just for that night, because it turned out to be such a bad day at WMC :( Not that we won't have more nights like that at Spundae of course :)

All i can really say is wow about Saturday night. I got there early to see my homie Mike drop some killer electro/funky progressive tunes. Im looking forward to his big show on Apr. 15th!!

I ended up getting on the tables around 10:30ish and despite only being able to use my 1 arm, I thought things went really great. I started my set off with some goood electro tunes like:

david amo & some other dudes - push
Marco V - false light (Marco's Thunderdub Mix)
Sam Dariush - Across the Ocean (Max Graham Manta Ray Remix)
Rob Mooney - Feelin Electro

The crowd was kinda into this sound but kinda not. I definitely began to sense they needed some harder beats with the occassinal melody. I decided to switch it up and picked up the pace with some stuff like:

Love Machine - Poison
Armin feat Nadia Ali - who is watching (remy remix)
S.v.d - Pumpkin (S.V.D remix)
filterfunk - S.O.S (filterfunk empty bottle remix)

At this point I had about 40 minmutes left and a completly packed room to work with. I was very pleasantly surprised to see how packed that main floor was that early. It was def time to pick the energy up some more. I decided to bring out some old school jams to really rock the place out. Tracks like :

SVD - Bling Bling
Marco v - More than a life away (orig)
Ernesto vs. bastian - dark side of the moon ( i know its overplayed but i just love the bassline in it)
WOW - killa (ds vs ork mix)

This night was 100% a highlight event in my book. All the dj's were on point and the music was rocking from start to finish. Gil tore it up, Vic was great and Bob was great as well. I only caught about 20 minutes of your set though homie...I was tired. It was great to see some new TA's like GPC and to kick it with others like Miss Julia, Hypersky, Gil, Bob, Victor, Mike Lord, Woody.

The only lowlight for me was only being able to use my 1 arm. I felt like I couldnt truly get as involved with the crowd as I usually do, plus I couldn't get into using any effects, loops, or get super creative with my mixing like I normally would. It's no big deal though because I had a blast nonetheless. This was such a great night and im just glad I could get the chance to be a part of it, one arm or not.

Thanks!!!!
