I've been saving up for it for a while, and i've just paid it. £485 for 3rd party fire and theft on a 97 renault clio 1.2 with 2 years no claims....it sucks that its so much, but it was £1100 when i first started. I'll be all upset when i check my bank balance in the morning...but atleast the temptation is gone now?

So, how much does your insurance cost you? Btw insurance in the uk is compulsory.

A perscribed amount of third party liability in mandatory in all North American juridictions, I would imagine the same is true in western Europe but damned if I know. In Ontario (Canada) the minimum is $200,000.

For full coverage (all perils & $1,000,000 liability) on a 2000 Jeep TJ (Wrangler in the US) I pay $1380/yr = 675 pound, $1,180 US.
Kaidreas
1100 euro for a stupid Nissan sunny (11 years old)
damn this sucks :(
dj_mdma
2500 GBP on a 300 bhp Nissan 200SX S14a with 13,000 miles per year policy with business use.

:whip:

EDIT: and thats only for third party, fire and theft. If i crash the car of my own stupidness, i get nothing.

In Australia, compulsory motor insurance is only for third party injuries. Every other insurance is optional.

I paid AU$680 for 12 months' full comprehensive insurance for a 93 daihatsu charade, with a $900 claim excess (for under 25's).
