| Maybe Fever will bring something new to the table. I've only been to the Eleven 50 (which I like, just not the staff), the Loft (which I like, just not how incredibly LOUD it was), and the old Globe (which pretty much sucked all around and I think has now turned into a hip-hop club which is to be expected considering the area of town it was in). |

werd welcome to TA,
if the last time you had a good time at the Compound was at ATB, um.. you obviously are a noob. haha (sorry had to be a wiseass). I think that awful 80s guns N roses hip-hop mash- in the dance room was when Mix Master Mike was there for his "marathon" 71 minute set full of every awful hip hop classic you could shake a white person's ass to. I think it was some retarded 99x event also, which was why he wasn't in the hip hop room, sorry ass philippino. but yeah pretty much like the general consensus, EDM is narrow and undiverse in this town called ATL. at least locality wise. |

So no offence Devin but, why haven't you (being the only promotter that could pull off a big DJ in this town) moved into Compound?!? Rumor has it they have the third area that can fit more people if they had a DJ that could fill it. Even without a third area, I would much rather see Digweed this weekend at Compound then E50. I think it can be agreed that most people are rather sick of E50. (Be that because of a number or reasons: layout, staff, the ty sound system, ect...) Yes coumpond has its drawbacks too (like how they shut off the entire wall to try to make it a VIP area because they did not plan ahead for a better VIP area!) but overall I, for one, would like a change in venue. |

compound is perfectly happy with their q100 / mike b night. They don't need any type of outside promoter or DJ's and they are perfectly happy with their music format. They don't want underground dance music in there.
We also have several 18 and up nights that we are starting up with multiple headliners once a month on a friday at a few different venues. |

Nah, I just refuse to spend my money half the time if there is any indication that I might have a better time inviting over a few friends and hitting "random play" on Windows media. I actually felt that way when I saw Sasha at eleven50 last year.
... but yeah, we gave Compound a try cause a friend hadn't been there and we all regretted the time/money wasted within a half hour. I recall having a similar problem when a few friends went the day before Thanksgiving (at least we got in free then) and were tortured by the same weird music. I'd said I'd never go back then, but then went to ATB, had a good time, and have since been hoarded up like a bum due to 1) lack of anything worth coming out for, and 2) repeated sinus infections. Which I'm dealing with AGAIN... which may mean no Digweed. my sinuses :( DAMN THE JACKED UP WEATHER!!! |

HAHAHA so damn true. just don't say that to the other TAs here. they already hear it enough from me, and they're tired of having to drag me out to the clubs. plus they don't need the added hassle of having to prod another person as well. ;) |

Like I said, I was just wondering... I got the impression that they were looking to bring people in because of DJs like Cristopher Lawrence and Icey that they have had in the past. If they are happy with it, then so be it... Let the trendy people have thier club and we will stick to where we are welcome. (Now just to petition E50 to improve thier sound system!!!)
It was amazing, going to NYC and hitting a CLUB and seeing how it should be done. The lights, the decor, the sound that you could listen to for 8 hours of Ferry and still hear at 8:00am when you left. I dream of the day that Atlanta would get a taste of that. I thought that it might come in some respect with compound but 1 year and a half later we are still waiting! |

I think Vision's sound is amazing.
Too bad they only play hip hop.
... and after an hour, the SAME hip hop that was on when you came in. |

My guess is that no one was showing up. I went down there a couple of times. Caught some sets by the Men With Records Crew, N03, Ian James, Jonathan Edwards and had a great time. There just was no one there, which really is a shame because the music was on point, and its nice to have a place to go on fridays to hear quality house music. It seems like sometimes, people beg and beg for these nights and then they get them, and then don't show up. |
