Didn't Compound used to be cool?

(This is my first post, I'm Maggie, hi...)

Once upon a time I remember the music for Saturday night Compound was... decent. Not the best, but tolerable... but the last two times I've gone it seems like they're mixing this WEIRD, WEIRD, WEIRD collection of nonsense such as oldschool 80's hair band Guns n Roses with...that damn milkshake song. Now seriously, WTF is that???

Does anyone know if that's the new cool at Compound (as in I should no longer bother at all), or do they still ever redeem themselves? The last time I actually enjoyed myself there was ATB... and that was a long time ago.

sup maggie!

i know, rite? youd think a nice club like compound could get their act together!!

deff had some fun times at christopher lawrence, groovefest, dj dan (i think?) , donald glaude, and a couple otherparties i cant remember haha

but fo sho, only worth going to really these days if they bring a big name

or youre just lookin for an excuse to go out and get wrecked

Not to mention the fact that... the allure is supposedly "music for everyone", so why don't they keep the strange hippity hop mixes in the, uh, hip hop room? Who knows... I don't think I'll be going back there just for any regular night anytime soon.

I actually kind of like the look of eleven50. It's in no way modern, but ya know... I don't think I've ever had a bad time there.

Yet to venture into The Mark, not even sure I've heard of it =\

the mark is pure debauchery!

small place, maye 150 person capacity, but the crowd is always awesome, people that come for the music and to dance their asses off!

got an awesome dnb party every thursday, and house every friday, nice stuf ;)

not to mention the strongest drinks in town
Caution_BiPolar
Hmm... might just have to look into that :)

100% agreed. :)

Mario has got this on LOCKDOWN!:tongue3

Essentially, you cannot go wrong with friendly staff, bartenders who take your drink request and multiply the alcohol level times two, and solid shows that bring enough people (with enough dancing room) to enjoy the night. :wtf:

The Mark Ultra Lounge is hands down my favorite place to let loose and check out the beautiful people (poshy & casual dressed in same place= for the win) ;)

Welcome to TA Maggie :)

Sad story: Our favorite club is no longer playing EDM and has given in to hip hop.

The Mark was great for several reasons. The vibe there was unmatched by any other venue I have experienced. Dimly lit dance floor helped pretty people and scene people dancing their asses off together. Everyone was drunk, and then some, having a ball. My favorite hottie bartendar working the bar in the upstairs chillout area always had a strong drink and a friendly smile. The sound at the place could have been better though. The treble was too high due to being surrounded by concrete and the bass wasn't warm enough. A shame EDM promoters no longer throw parties there.

1150 isn't bad. If you ask me, they need to kill some lights. And maybe teach some of those people how to dance.

I personally never had a memorable time at the Compound. The bartenders suck, their drinks are expense and weak and the people are totally pretentious. The worse of it all, the talent Compound and it's promoters bring are pretty weak.
