well they should have given the girl a rape kit to test whether she was lying or not. It seems the reason they put thatfirst 911 call in about racial slurs is to show, she might have been called names and wanted to get even with them. but I dunno.
certainly the tests will show who was in where. but I think their house is gonna get torched. |

| we've had a few cases like this in football in the last couple of years, in Holland last summer, Arsenal's Robin Van Persie was arrested & accused but in the end she admitted she was lying & the charges got dropped. Another case saw a ton of england internationals accused of roasting a girl but again she admitted she slept with them & only wanted the money, she infact went to a known publicist before the police.. |

The racial slurs call came from another person.
Josh, I didnt see that in the article I linked, but I think I remember reading something like it. Where did you pull that from? |

| what assbags. if the accusations are true...then they deserve what they get. *not all*, but many college athletes seem to have sky-high ego's, and they get away with A LOT...just because you can throw a ball far and run fast, doesn't mean you should have the ground that you walk on kissed. :rolleyes: |

that would be a strange twist. athlete or not, if she was raped, i hope the guys are punished. and if she lied and was loving it the whole time, then she needs to get her ass kicked, you don't lie, ESPECIALLY about that kind of stuff. |

| Well we all want to see the athletes punished if they raped her. But let's say it turns out that none of them did, or that it was consensual. You (as hypothetical President of Duke) have just wrecked this teams season, and they were in the upper echelons of the country. You've made them possible targets for violence and associated a bad connontation with the team that will last awhile. You've lost funds from alumni and admissions drop. How do you justify this move when it comes to contract time? Do you punish the team further for essentially hosting such an event? |

punishing them further (had no rape occurred, only 'inappropriate' events) is like beating a dead horse. the stigma that will last because of this event, cannot be reversed, but the team could take on the responsibility of promoting themselves as decent guys...giving the public a new take on the team. if you're going to have a party with strippers, they need to be aware, that there's potential for bad PR. but say they win their championship...everyone will be happy and forget about it. |
