Try a few less pills, and you'll see that showing up with a group of friends and partying with them is just as fun as talking to "That really cool guy grinding his teeth and pelvis thrusting the speaker".

hahahaha you have captured the essence of Jay:stongue:

So true.
If people wanted to go make friends they would go to a bar.Not a place where dancing is king, and you cant hold a decent conversation because of the noise.

Watch your livers bitches.

I'm sorry, but Boa-Redux was a phenomenal club. So is Stereo. So will be Sonic. All three of these place attract the same talent for all practical purposes, play the same types of music, and for the most part have the same types of people. Having been to Boa's about 5 times during its existence on Spadina Ave, I was never disappointed. Music was great, people were friendly, and having the Comfort Zone right up the street for round 2 on Sundays doubled my pleasure. It seems like Sonic will be an even more refined version of Boa and will be even better.
Stereo is also a great- club- sound is great- afterhours aren't so good for meeting people as already pointed up, but Stereobar has been a real hoot. DJ Vibe last month was one of the best times I've ever had.
Nevertheless, I don't see how anyone can say that one club is so much better than the other when they are for all purposes quite the same. Stereo has better sound. I give it that.
Some might say Stereo is friendlier than the former Boas, but I would argue they are the same.
As far is Sonic being in the ghetto, give me a freakin break. This is Chinatown, not the ghetto. If you can't get over a few bums or a couple of prostitutes, then stay home. If you want to see the ghetto, go to Buffalo NY or Washington DC or Cleveland Ohio.
As far as comparing cities, of course Toronto has fewer venues for EDM- it is more consolidated, but there is a growing bar scene. TIL, Viva, State Theatre, Republik, Beba, Footwork, the list goes on all have house nights. Afterhours type places are limited to The guv, CZ, and soon to be Sonic.
The Montreal scene is much more fragmented. There is actually less of a bar scene than in Toronto (Mile End, Stereobar, Central STation on Sunday night if you want to count that, Jacque Cartier Pub (Nemesis)), but many more afterhours. With there being so many afterhours, clientele is spread thin at times. If it is a local resident night on a bad night, sometimes they are empty. Sometimes on a good night they are full. Its hit and miss. With the Toronto scene being consolidated, generally any place you go will be packed at any time.

to that looser about not meeting people at stereo... you for real? you 12 years old? everyone has his own clique, you're not part of any? get the out.:stongue:

For me personnaly, when I go out, I DON'T WANT TO MEET NEW PEOPLE! I have my group of friends, and thats about it. I'll be polite to you, but no, I won't hang with you.

Then why is it i meet people in T.O.? WIth your attitude no wonder I didnt meet many people @ Stereo. There are times when i want to be alone too...in my own world...but the vibe there is not friendly to meeting people. And yes i had my friends. just wasnt easy to meet new ones there... Anyways I'm much happier now...See you at Stereo this summer with my T.O friends when we come down :)

I dont wish to make friends at a club. I am just saying people are actually nice here in T.O and not snobby like in montreal.

Malek is mean. He always ignores me when we're chilling at 281 together...

You ever been to 281 Bryan? Sick club...

hmm let see, in my years of clubbing and partying here, i've yet to see someone who has been mean to me. But I also don't usualy come up to people out of nowhere seeking their friendship...

But, I usually run around bothering people to take their pictures, and I have been to the kinds of parties where the people look the most uptight, never had an attitude problem... surprising.

Haha.. hilarious thread...

I chose Montreal for the record.. I went and visited both MTL and TO last summer and got a much better vibe from MTL, a vibe I'm much more used to. Toronto seemed like such a typical north american city to a huge extent. A small, neat downtown with endless suburbs surrounding it.

MTL has that vibe, that slightly chaotic feeling to it.. New york has it, Amsterdam has it- It's hard to explain.

For the record, I often times end up meeting mad people at nightclubs, a lot of which i end up seeing again, possibly even chilling with afterwards, but never have I gone soley to meet new people :p... And if i was to go alone which ive done, i'll be dancing so much it won't ing matter haha!

As for the language issue, I am so used to not being able to speak the same language as the place im living in, it will make it feel more like home! Actually im hoping to learn french, ive got spanish down- now i need to conquer french!

Actually judging a city on its clubbing quality is really stupid. The average Quebecor doesn't know anything about EDM nevermind afterhours. Go to any afterhours and you see the same people over and over again. With 3.7 million people in the greater Montreal area, it is only a small, small fraction that attend Circus, Aria, Stereo, REd-Lite, Millenium, etc.

Niether does the typical Quebecor go partying on St. Laurent or Crescent St all the time. There is this perception that Montrealers just drink wine and eat out dinners all the time. Again, these places are designed for a very small, niche population- college students, tourists, a few business people. The fact that Montreal might have a better vibe or clubbing quality is immaterial in my opinion because nobody really cares about that kind of stuff. At the end, people are looking for jobs, a house with a picket fence, and two vehicles in the driveway. Maybe a place to have kids too. Salaries are much higher in Toronto and people have more disposible income there. Thus Toronto is the destination of choice for the general population.
