mp3 cutter

ive been using MP3 Slicer, but it doesnt give me the option to just cut out a specific part, instead it forces me to just slice the whole set into peices, so i end up with the track i want out, then evertying before it and after it on a seperate mp3.
long story short: does anyone know of a mp3 cutting program that will just cut out the specific time i tell it to? ex. 24:00-28:00 |

I'm asking because then using soundforge for editing a set means it's gonna eat all your memory because the set will be in wav format in your RAM, and then when you are done editing, you will have to re-encode it back into mp3 which will take some time as well. |

yes it does convert to wav
i find that to be the best way to work on audio
decoding and encoding doesnt take long at all |

| I have 512 megs RAM. I once edited a set like that, and my computer became like molasses. Never again, lol. |

same.. celery 2.4ghz with 512mb ram
i was still able to use msn, www, irc and winamp when i edit livesets with soundforge.. |

MP3 Direct Cut
You can cut up Mp3s like in any other audio program, but it does convert mp3 to wav and then back to mp3

what are all these programs converting mp3 to wav back to mp3, bah!
Waste of time ;)
just get wavelab, load the mp3, big deal u wait a minute depending on how fast ur pc is
then u can cut whatever the hell u want in it... and save as mp3 or whatever u want
