hmm. like i say in the other thread i'm probably not the best person to recall what happened detail for detail. i was at the back in the middle when it came on & it sounded about the same volume |

My first Global.
Overall, it was pretty good. I think I would have been disappointed if it I hadn't have seen Daft Punk. Absolutely fan-ing-tastic. Another plus point was meeting Ferry Corsten, and the beach stage. Enjoyed Sasha, Morillo, and what I saw of Fatboy.
Things just went downhill on the Saturday though. The general atmosphere seemed to take a turn for the worse. Incredible amount of s seemed to arrive. One of my mates got booted up the arse for no reason.
Gods tent was pretty good at times but the sound was . I recently learnt that it's because the Police were monitoring the sound levels, to ensure they adhere to "council regulations". Utter bull. Enjoyed Halliwell, nice touch with Armin playing For An Angel. Mark's closing set was pretty cool too and I know it was an awesome experience for him.
Lack of sleep was annoying too, found myself utterly exhausted on the Saturday. Ultimate kick in the teeth was my mates unfortunate experience with a complete of a 'security' guy. I can't be arsed to explain what happened but it basically resulted in my mate not being able to get into the campsite and I had pack up all our stuff and bring it out. No time for sleep.
Not entirely sure I'll go next year really, like I said, without daft punk it would have been somewhat disappointing. |

I wasn't able to go to GG'06, but I was watching some of Daft Punks set on Youtube, and it sounds quite identical to the set they did at Coachella earlier this year. Please tell me they mixed it up a little bit, played different tracks etc.
They are so talented and have a lot of tracks under there belt that it's inexcusible to play an almost identical set as coachella. |

Great! Thank you for setting my mind at ease. Here's hoping we'll get as good of a quality recording as we did for Coachella. |

I had a rate time.
Loved every second.
Didnt go with great hopes to be fair, nor thinking ive got too see him him and him, we made no plans just got cained and took everything as it came which was the best way.
Didnt see many trancers, matt hardwick - e and its not the first time ive thought that, paul oakenfold, hmmmm nowt spesh, but i really really enjoyed armin.
Because everyone in our group liked something different we hit every tent and had a good dance in each!
I thought everyone was lovely and friendly, really wicked atmosphere, id go back tomorrow if i could! |

| If anyone has any leads on links to sets by Danny Howells/Digweed/Hernan/Josh Wink/or even David Guetta's sets...or any of the others, please let the world know already. Thanks. Personally, my response is very positive. I had a great weekend despite going on my own. I met some really sweet girls from somewhere in northern uk (by sweet I mean they got me into vip). Also, I met a cool kid from London, and some kids from Calgary, Canada. All in all, Howell's set was the best in my opinion. I missed out on all the big trance acts because of the rain, I just didn't feel like leaving the Bedrock Tent. I must say you all throw one hell of a festival. Every year I try and go to the Detroit Electronic Festival during Memorial Day (June) Weekend. The big difference is the camping at Global really adds a little. Tons of people go to the Detroit show and all very similar in terms of people into the music and people into the culture. I am glad I now have the perspective that most do not. If any of you want a place to crash if you visit DEMF, I'm moving to Chicago, but I'll still know a ton of people in the city. Great times...too bad I don't have any pictures. So, someone please find me some sets to remember the festival. Thanks guys. |
