Chavness on a scale to 1 - 10.......10. Define chavness as was at Escape into the park last month and that would be off the scale for chavness but there wasn't many pikeys or troublemakers.

Friday ain't bad at all as there aren't any day tickets but Saturday the capacity is more than doubled due to day tickets so you get all the dodgy types and opportunist thieves going. Tbh I have been going to dance festivals since 2001 and haven't had any problems except for some scally starting on me at Creamfields 2002. It is a small majority of the people that go that want to mess it up for the rest.

Some advice:
Don't go around on ya own and stay in groups. The more people the better.

Even tho I like drum and bass the tent at global will house most of ya scallies so avoid it. Especially by the entrances of it, there has been a stabbing every year since 2003.

Don't look a complete idiot and you should be fine. Also if you look too battered you will be an easy target. A group of travellers target Global gathering every year as there is a travellers site nearby.

Keep your eyes on the floor you never know what you may find!

Take the train to stratford, its pretty simple. There is a train station in Gatwick.

Taken from the Chiltern Railways Website http://www.chilternrailways.co.uk/

Global Gathering 2006 will be an official record breaker in more ways than one: it will be the BIGGEST EVER UK dance weekender with an increased capacity of 45,000 and it will assemble more superstar DJs to one event than ever before when 175 of the worlds biggest names congregate at the Long Marston Airfield, near Stratford-upon-Avon, on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 July.

To ensure festival-goers can get to the event easily we're running additional trains to Stratford-upon-Avon on Friday 28 July.

If you're travelling to or from the event on Saturday or Sunday please remember that we have Track Improvement work taking place over the weekend. On Saturday buses replace trains between Banbury and High Wycombe, and on Sunday between Banbury and West Ruislip.

Use our quick on-line timetable service to plan your journey.

If your coming from Gatwick theres a train that goes to Leamington Spa, change there. Or get a car, would prob be easier and quicker :D

Thats possible the worst possible weekend to have the track down, and also the most profitable.

so we decided we are driving from Lutton airport since we fly to amsterdam sunday at 11:00 am

2 questions:

how long will it takes us from Lutton to Stratford Upon-Avon?? 2 or 3 hours??

what would be a safe hour to leave the festival so we can get back to Lutton airport sunday at 10:00 am?? thanks so much
zag2me
It should only take you about 2 - 2:30hrs but I would leave at about 5-6am to be sure, then you wont see any traffic.
