Metal your confidence in the market is astounding, especially when it seems you're only a one way trader (although I realize I could be wrong). |
I'am a one way trader and my confidence wouldn't be "astounding," if I wasn't doing something right.;) I have been on a win streak. |

| Seems nice, low transactions costs and no minimum is very nice. Won't have the same kind of research support as an etrade most likely, but then again thats what morning star is for. |

Alright so I have about 10k to invest at the moment and Im looking for advice on what to do with it. I want to obviously spread it around a couple of places so my eggs aren't all in one basket. Here are my ideas so far, but I could definently use some help (and specifics would really be great)...
1k into prosper.com, spread over into 10 different borrowers (lending site).
of the remaining I'd like to put the majority into some financials: a mutual fund, etf, maybe (but not really that enthusiastic about this strategy) a stock or couple of stocks. Whatever is left over I'd maybe like to find a good rate at a bank for a dependable, albeit smaller return. |

how long do you intend to invest in the companies for?
Futre xom: HNR,
Future defense stock leader: mtsx
Future AIG: MIG
These are for long terms. |

Sorry, omitted that. With my etfs mutual funds, etc. Im looking for a 3 year investment.
I think, I may be wrong, you have listed all stocks. I am not really huge on stocks, as it really is an eggs in one basket strategy unless you build a portfolio which I dont want to do with this little (relatively) money. However, I will research what you gave me, and I too think XOM (Exxon) is a nice and basically safe (I guess as safe as you could possible call the oil industry) pick. |
