Psy music isn't "live". Almost all of it is still automatic. Live music is getting a band on stage and playing all the notes and instruments- not having a computer loop most of it for you. |
what do you mean?
I was just giving an example that psy acts perform live, also Flash Brothers are live acts aswell as DJs, ... they play on synths on stage |

They play their own stuff though. They aren't DJs, and they aren't a live act. I hear that Juno Reactor actually get a band together and bash it out when they play live. That's the only live goa/psy I've heard of. |

Mmm not exactly goa or trance even but I know Hybrid does a live act with drummers and singers etc.
Re. Markus and Armin, I have a set that Armin played at Glow a few years ago and the tracks are exactly the slower hard to dance to hipster stuff that Markus produces...in fact there's a track or two that Mr. Schulz produced in that set...so Armin doing that is nothing new..
The sets I've heard by Mr. Schulz are quite danceable, but I've never seen him live... |

prog house with glockenspiel melodies.
personally not a fan - theres no edge to it like the old bedrock or old perfecto stuff (the oldskool semi-commercial prog trance).
i actually find it a little depressing - but thats jus imo (: |

| Thinking about it, dance music can be live without having all the instrumentalists on stage, but only if it's mostly analogue: a la Orbital. I hear that most of these "live" psy acts just press play and doodle around with Ableton and the odd keyboard. |

I saw Analog "live" once.
I put live in quotation marks because none of their gear was plugged in. They played a DAT and faked the entire thing, including this comical moment where Jiga was hanging off the edge of the stage with an electric bass guitar pretending to shred out these badass licks, pandering to the people in the front row giving her props like some sort of rock god.
It was funny. |
