Trance is dying here in Mtl I know. And even in Europe, Trance isn't really at an high point. Progressive is taking over all the place, which is not a bad thing because music evolves like anything else in this damn world.

I still have hope for a sick Trance lineup in Mtl, but that's just me. Headliners like Gielen and Rank 1 would do a very great show over here I think, it would be a bit different than what Mtl EDM scene is known to play. Much more Trance and relax:)

And even if Trance is much bigger in TO, I'm a MTLTA and will always be. I so love Quebec that considering moving to TO isn't acceptable for me. But I have to admit that Guvernment seems to be a very, very great place to party !

If you really like Trance so much I might suggest you check out some of the lesser known parties found on Rave.ca and such. There are events almost every week and although the Dj's are not world famous headliners some of these young up and comers are decent.(Psy Trance and sometimes progressive dj Clown comes to mind)If you can put up with the all ages old school rave type thing you might be able to have some fun. These young Dj's could also use the support. As far as the Guvernment complex goes....When you first walk in the place you are in awe of the sheer size of everything.I found the vibe and fun factor to be totally non existent but that is only my opinion. To me it is an example of corporate attempts to cash in on the lucrative clubbing market and somewhat gives the place a disney vibe.If you like Trance though it might definatly be a place for you to check out.

And Falcon X, I also enjoy Miguel Migs...right now though im in a severe Tribal phases(I listen to so much edm that certain genres tend to dominate me for periods before my mood changes).Im spending my time trying to find every Lucca Ricci mix and London 909 track i can get(Just because im mad at Lawler for totally abandoning the dark beats..Maybe if more people buy tribally stuff he will go back):p

The amount of big parties and the caliber of DJs that the Guv gets on a regular baisis is an amazing thing. Their prices are usually pretty low too!!! $35 for Decadance is the most I pay in the year. Most nights its 15-20, not bad at all.

Somebody needs to dig up Guv's business model, and find out how they are turning profits with such big names. Only then will MTL be able to compete(since you guys say you arent anymore).

ARIA can compete with Guv prices. Usually, Aria isn't more expensive than 20 bucks but for bigger headliners it can goes up to 30. Most I've paid at the ARIA was 25$ for Ferry Corsten on last October. But I find other afters in Mtl expensive compared to ARIA and I have to say that ARIA is much more better IMO, but that's just my opinion folks.

One day, I'll go at the Guv. One day...unless you guys turned out House too, then I'll have to catch a plane to Netherlands:p

Guv makes money by cramming people in like sardines. This isn't first hand news, it's simply what I've heard from some Torontonians...
all-nite-freak
have you been to all the other afters elfy?
je pense pas moi:p

Aria made a mistake by having the cheapest covers.I think its one of the reasons the club is struggling.
fastmp3
guv = sells alcohol, that's why the cover price is cheaper

I've been to RedLite and Stereo so far. I was supposed to go to the Circus 2 weeks ago but we weren't in the mood that night. I haven't been to ALL the others because of many reasons (like I don't live in Mtl, don't have a car and the money...) but I've been to enough parties to say that I much prefer ARIA :)
all-nite-freak
i dont really have a preference myself.
I believe they all have unique qualities depending on the night.

edit:although i hate circus because everytime you go there getting searched by the bouncers=quasi sexual assault
Enjoy

Yeah its defintely crammed for bigger names, no doubt there. Thats why I love these all access events, you can spend the night in the Kool haus and feel free! Then by 5am when it starts to clear out, its really nice.
