You need antibiotics for bronchitis, some variation of Penicillin.
Cough syrup to help with the discomfrot in your throat.
And, something to let the phlegm in your lungs loose; boil a pot of tea. As soon as it boils, put some Vicks in it and mix it. Then, place the pot on the floor in front of you, and sit so that you inhale the vapors for a good fifteen minutes. Do this several times a day.
Also, don't go outside, as this opens your bronchi and helps you breathe BUT, with your illness, makes you vulnerable to being outdoors.
Hm..finally, drink lots of fluids. Lots. Tea, water, chicken broth. And. That's about all I have.
Oh, you also need some cold medicine to aid with the phlegm.
And, yes, you can take all these meds at the same time.
(Penicillin, codeine, and some sort of tylenol + vicks, you'll feel better in about a week, and that's about as good as it gets). |

Bronchitis is a bitch! i had it a few times when i was a kid. man, talk about coughing until your lungs explode.
my dad has pneumonia, and is in the hospital for it - so at least yours isn't that bad! |

it's so weird. he got it last saturday [so, what, 9 days ago?] and on wednesday he was driving home from work and couldn't breath very well any more, so he called 911 from I-290 , and an ambulance picked him up and brought him to the hospital.
they gave him so antiobitics and stuff, and sent him home.
well, then this saturday rolls around, and he said he was in so much pain; and so went to the DR and he admitted him to Northwest Community Hospital. i think they said he'd be there for 3-4 days.
he's only been sick one other time in my whole life [seriously], and it was with pneumonia. but i was like 2 and don't remember it. so go figure.
he should be fine. it's just a bit srange.
so, RJT, if you feel like you are getting worse - TELL SOMEONE! don't sit on it and wait until you're about to pass out. haha |

i actually just recovered from bronchitis a couple of weeks back.
major major suckage. The doc gave me an inhaler which helped lots.
