It’s bad news for fans of the Material Girl in Toronto.
Madonna has announced her world tour plans and they only include one Canadian date – Montreal.
The Confessions Tour, which kicks off in Los Angeles on May 21st, brings the pop superstar north of the border a month later – June 21st – to Montreal’s Bell Centre.
The tour, which spans the globe with dates in Las Vegas, Paris, London, Rome, and Dusseldorf (among others), runs until at least September with a date in Amsterdam. There are also plans in the works for dates in Tokyo and Osaka, but details weren’t confirmed for those shows.
Madonna is promoting her latest album, the disco-tinged Confessions on a Dance Floor, which has sold about 1.4 million copies in the United States since it was released in November.
Contrary to speculation that the tour would bring the singer into smaller venues than usual, most of the gigs are at stadiums and arenas.
Tickets top out at about $350 US.
Madonna last toured in 2004 – the Re-Invention Tour grossed about $125 million according to Billboard Boxscore.
And though the venues are nothing new, there is at least one first for the performer with this tour – she’ll be warming up with a previously announced April 30th date at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in southern California, the first festival show of her career.
Madonna's tour dates:
April 30: Indio, Calif. (Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival)

I think Madonna should have retired after suffering a hernia injury.
She had a great run... but she's 48 years old. |

she did THREE (sold out, I believe) shows here the last time around...and now skips the city altogether?
strange.
as for retiring, no way...she still puts on a show that shames virtually all performers who are 1/2 her age. |
